I noticed when I'm on auto take off in my 4hog, the elevator trim tabs can sweep from top to bottom in a few seconds or less. My question is: Why can't it do that manually? When I adjust the elevator trim max up or down it seems to take forever. Is this normal in game or can I tweek it faster on my X52. I have adjusted deadbands etc, this only increases sensitivity not speed of movement.
Thanks <S> Fudmukkr

been flying a t-6 texan a lot lately. can say from experience that i have to manually turn the trim wheels and having a full up or down trim button is not somthing real planes would have.

I don't know of any WWII A/C that used anything but the manual trim wheels.

I'm not sure there were any either however he didnt make that qualification.

I'm referring to the cartoon airplane in the game, not real life planes...

This is probably HTC's way of keeping guys from gaining a huge advantage by mapping trim to the stick axis.
Advantage of mapping trim to axis is still there but the delay makes it less drastic.

Being out of trim will hurt you more than help. You seem to think manual trim is some fight-winning cheat. It isn't.

Not so much here but in warbirds.............. you go to extrenal view and zoom in on the elevator while you are on the runway, pull the elevator full up and note it's position, hit the trim up and watch the elevator move 10 or more degrees extra.
This helps some flight models and hurts others.
That said, flying with combat trim off is great because we can always hit either level trim or trim for angle which will near instantly optimize trim for whatever speed you are currently going.
The only downside is accidently hitting X instead of Z when adjusting your field of view during a turn fight.

K..I will make my query clearer....Can I make the trim tabs move just as fast manually as they do on auto take off? As of now, the trim needles move slow when manually operated as compared to auto take off.

No, you can't manually move the trim tabs any faster than they do by holding down the trim tab, short of hitting one of the auto-pilot settings or turning on Combat Trim.
I guess I'm having a hard time figuring out why you would want to.

He is asking if it is possible to make the trim tabs move as fast manually as they do under autotrim conditions.
