Title: Offline Mission Editor Crashing
Post by: 100Coogn on June 02, 2011, 01:48:00 PM
Anytime I add a sound to an offline mission, the ME crashes as soon as I test that sound.
When playing the mission offline, the sound will play, but as soon as it has reached the end wav. file, AH will crash.

I'm using 8 Bit/Mono/22050 Hz sound wavs.  I've tried MP3 sounds just for fun.  Same results.
All of my missions were working fine until two about patches ago.  Since then I've had to remove all sound effects
from the missions to get them to play.

Any idea's???

Sorry to hear of your troubles. That must be frustrating.

I haven't attempted to use the new Mission Editor yet. When I do, I'll report my results.

Same here. Exactly. The only difference is that my 8-bit mono wav files are sampled at 8Khz.

The exact same mission source code has worked with success with several older versions of the M.E. and front-end. No changes at all to the source code, but I get the same crash you describe with the current version 2.24.5.

Glad to know it's not just me...
I did save a copy of my missions with sound effects, just in case.
Thanks for checking that out bbosen.
