Sometimes I hate the multiplayer, I just do campaign cause of all the noobs who think they are awesome use tubes, and the snipers also suck, and I know cause I use my sniper alot in call of duty :lol

Have always enjoyed the Halo games and the expanded universe through the novels. Don't really play the Xbox anymore and I'm not THAT excited for another Halo, but I bet that's going to change a lot as the release date gets closer... it always does for these kinds of games :D

Gee, I hope this thread doesn't start a console war, wait too late. :bolt:
-
ok ladies, lets not ruin the thread here...
i hated halo reach..dont know why i even bothered to get it. might not even get Halo 4. halo just sucks IMO.
-
I'd much rather have a Killzone 4 than a halo 4, killzone is such the better gaming franchise. only reason halo is so popular is because its xbox's posterchild that they potato out to the media daily.

I've owned a 360 since launch and while I've had to replace it I think three times by now (maybe four), Microsoft has always made the repair/replacement process as quick and painless as possible. I've cursed Microsoft's name dozens of times and insisted that I would never by hardware from them again, but with the heavy use I used to give it it's given me a LOT more fun than heartache.
At the time that I purchased the 360 it seemed an obvious choice, having previously owned a PS2 which I was a huge fan of (racing games were the best on it) and an original Xbox, the 360 was the no-brainer versus the PS3. It came out first and it had a lot more games and it was less expensive and the online service was far superior (and still is). I maintain that any online game is instantly improved as soon as a subscription is involved (so long as the price is right). For $50 a year I can triple the play value of every $60 game in my library, sounds like a fair price to me. The amount of enjoyment I've gotten from playing the Halo games online with my friends is worth the price even without all the other games I could or have played.
Nowadays with the excellent software Sony is producing and the much more reasonable price of the system I would definitely consider owning one. The extent of their online service seems very nice but what's most important is the games, I don't know the state of Sony's online games nowadays but I doubt anything will impress me after my experience with Xbox Live. The only thing I can barely stand between PlayStation and Xbox is the controllers. Sony's is too small and I don't like how close the analog sticks are to each other, I might control them with the tips of my thumbs or rest the pads on them, but when I do the latter my thumbs touch each other and I can't get full movement. I've always preferred the Xbox controller since the later model one on the original Xbox. The triggers are much better, the analog sticks are "just right", and I prefer the feel of the buttons. The size and weight fills my hands and I don't feel like I'm gingerly holding a fine instrument like I do with those ultra-lite and extra small PS3 controllers. The d-pad pisses me off like nothing else but it's generally only used as a quick-select type function anyway. Controller arguments are moot if there are good 3rd party options though, which I'm sure the PS3 has.

I've only ever played Halo 1 (combat evolved and custom edition) on PC, and I loved them. The gameplay (single or multiplayer) isn't anything fancy, but that's just why I like it. The MP is a nice, simple FPS, with a good variety of weapons and vehicles too. The SP is a good game, with nice cutscenes, which has pretty good replayability, and an excellent background story to it all. And the Halo universe is a large part of why I like Halo so much - IMO Bungie has done a really excellent job in 'fleshing it out', and given the entire series way more depth to it.
In case any of you wonder (not sure how many people know about it), 'custom edition' is like an addon to Halo 1 PC, which lets modders put in all sorts of cool stuff - massive maps (like 8km across, sometimes), awesome vehicles and weapons (such as flyable Longswords, Pelicans, Seraphs etc etc) and just overall win. When I was last on a few months ago, Halo 1 had several hundred people on it, and custom edition had a bunch of full servers (and those were only for the maps which I had) - I think that says something good about a game which is soon to be 10 years old.

[/hijack] console war wins round 1.... [/hijack]
and to get somewhat back onto topic, did bungie give up halo? or is that a rumor thats been going around? im still not quite sure because if they did i bet Halo 4 will be complete crap.

Can't tell. 343 industries does seem to be a separate entity, so I assume Bungie did. I saw a line on some article just now which said that 343 industries has been preparing for the 'reins to be handed over' for a few years now, so I suspect your concerns will prove to be unfounded.
edit: I see the skuzzinator has been busy... :D
And also, I just found the articles for 343 Industries on wikipedia - it explains what's happened quite well:

you know its real old anytime anyone talks about a new game coming out, the same few people start there little " well yours Suxxor and this is why mines better" responces, grow the hell up.. you act like little kids comparing noodles and you both drew the short straw. we know what you think and have heard your opinions on Consoles a million times, we are talking about a Game here. Now back on topic, it looks alot better than halo3 but like one said i would like to see some muti-player videos my son says he's going to get it when its released, so ill check his out when he gets it.

Sounds like a smart move. Knowing me I'll never get it, since it'll either be on a console (which I never get around to getting) or if on PC, my eternally out of date computer wouldn't be able to handle it :P

I wish Halo was how it was supposed to be made back in 1997/98. it was supposed to be a Massive multiplayer online game like planet side . plus you could use a mini gun and had deformable terrain . I feel sad now :( and angry :furious
