Ask your friend if he has heard of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Its a summer league for college age players. Many major league players gained nationwide attention playing in the Cape League. If he is serious about playing professionally, it would be a great place to gain experience.

Well the problem is that he originally signed with south carolina, but now he is being drafted so I don't know what's really gonna happen.

Just because he was drafted by the Jays, doesn't mean he has to sign there.
In my opinion, it would be better to play college ball, and the Cape League durring the summer. Being drafted in the 20th round means starting out at the bottom of the farm system, with little time to develop before the team makes a decision to keep or cut the player in favor the next draftee. Just being able to play in the Cape League  adds value to his name and makes him more marketable to MLB teams. A solid college carrier allong with Cape League experiance, could lead to opertunies as a top tier prospect for an elite team (Boston, New York).
