The Finns have had an Annual International AH Spring Meeting (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,303737.0.html) eight times already, and another less official one in the autumn for some years now. All it takes is a place to meet and someone to organize it. The details may vary, it may be a lan party with people lying in sleeping bags under their computer tables, a civilized lan party with accommodation or just a get together event without computers. The last one is of course the easiest to organize, because there's no need for a bunch of hubs and switches, not to mention a good broadband connection.

The main purpose is to meet fellow gamers face to face, so every alternative works.

So to answer your question: You can have an aussie AH gathering right when you organize it. If the participants like it, they'll be waiting for the next one and, if you're lucky, they'll help you with it.

I'd reckon a Prawn meetup would involve much beer, b/s'ing and bbq'ing, sounds great!

Prawns are pretty spread out, our CO lives in Singapore and the rest are spread out somewhere between Brisbane and Perth. I think the same goes for Dantoo's mob. If we were to have an east coast one, where would you have it? My personal suggestion would be Jupiters Casino Gold Coast but maybe further south would be better from a logistics point of view. There is always Temora airshow.

the airshow thingo sounds good phat..... casino... unless you like gambling..i'm up for it anyhow... 3 days rugged outdoors... could even plan it when FTJR makes his anuual trip back...if he does...but shouldn't we consolidate numbers and see which state has the most number of players and whther they willing to travel if not in their state

Temora is a great idea. I think the Lowy family have a huge stake in it. For info the Lowy’s group Westfield are the largest retail property group in the world. They actually bought the World Trade Centre Mall 6 weeks before 9/11.

I think they have a flying Spit XVI as well – how good is that?

They are flying everything on November 19th this year. Fly into Canberra and do the War Memorial at the same time.

Air fares are as “cheap as chips” at the moment as well. Someone put their hand up and organize it. Des, you’re as “keen as mustard” on range and have a “woody in your pants” for the idea, go for it. I’m in.

We did have a Prawns get together in Perth recently. We dined on the finest burgers “Fast Eddies” could provide, retiring to the pub across the road. Shortly afterwards someone made Zeke engine noises and was doing ACM’s with their hands. Suffice it to say there is no visual evidence of this --- anywhere ----- now.
