See Rule #14

The first link is a good read. My personal feelings on killing in combat: Remain neutral, derive no pleasure, nor pain, from the experience. Not an easy as it may sound, but it keeps ya from goin' nuts.

The first one is pretty interesting though not updated in a while. The second one, read the first entry about Wisconsin...it's nothing but socialist blather.

Have you seen the HBO series The Pacific? Great example of what he was talking about there.
-
No, I haven't seen that series.

From what I've read here, it is a rather rosy outlook on the experiences of WWII soldiers serving in the Pacific punctuated by, as one of my favorite cartoon characters put it, "Smoochy, kissy, goo-goo romace". So no, I don't really want to. It's not that I don't like action movies or romantic subplots, but the way they put it together is like eating pizza dipped in molasses and covered in shredded eggplant.

:huh what? rosey outlook? boy, i have no clue what you read or where, but...i'd get png'd for what i'd like to tell you.
it's marines not soldiers...learn and understand the difference. secondly there was nothing "rosey" about what was portrayed and how...there was a little too much "civilian interaction" for band of brothers fans that felt there weren't enough comparable combat scenes considering the severity of the battles. it was a very stark portrayal of what a few marines documented of their experiences in the pacific theater of operations during world war two. your delicate nature probably couldn't stomach some of what was portrayed.

He's confused with the movie Pearl Harbor.
