Post by: Scotty55OEFVet on June 18, 2011, 09:07:33 PM
Ok, never downloaded sound packs before. Soooo, how do I go about implementing them. Is their a sounds folder in the Hitech Folder or do I do it some other way? Little help please

The location to put custom sounds is C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\Sounds.

Most Sound Packs are downloaded in parts separated in large folders, such as 'American Planes', 'German Planes', 'Vehicles', etc. These download files are very large so they will be compressed, ZIP and RAR are the common methods. A great program for opening up RAR files is Free RAR Extract Frog, it is very small, simple, and as mentioned in the name, it's free.

Installing a Sound Pack is as easy as drag-n-drop. You don't just drag 'American Planes' into the 'Sounds' folder though, you open up 'American Planes' and copy its contents into the 'Sounds' folder. A properly installed Sound Pack should look like this:

I would suggest renaming your original sound folder to something like "sounds-original".
That way you have those to fall back on, just in case.
