Based on the K4, but with an extra mk 108 in each wing, did go into production and several were made/used in combat.

Not enough in service.

...did go into production and several were made/used in combat.
When you say, "went into production", you mean a few prototypes were built for testing, or that the factory got the thumbs up for producing them in mass?
Also, how many were used in combat? (i.e. how many is "several"?)
-
The only known K-6s I see were being tested in late 44, but there are no work numbers listed for any 'production' of K-6s.
I'd rather see the R4 (gondolas) option added to the K4. It didn't see 'widespread use' but it was available. Further, there were production models delivered with the 20mm MG151 hub cannon in place of the MK108 - not all that many mind you, but enough for that option to be added IMHO.
-
You almost hear nothing about the 109K-6. They were just prototype and that i about how far they got. It would have been interesting to see the 109s advance like the 190 with the D-9 and D-13.

Think about it...
i bet it wasnt much faster then the g-14, wasnt able to outturn the 190 a8...
+ one tator gun is alredy one-ping-one-kill-no-luck-just-skill :rock
in the other hand it would be the ultimate buffbuster.

437 was top speed with the added mk 108s

:O

Even if it had a 10 perk price, like the spit14, it would be an easy one, I believe the only mods from our K4 would be the mk 108's in the wings. :airplane:

30mm does take skill, I will give it that but the fact that its one shot one kill makes it easy IMO.

The challenge of the k4 isn't limited to its gun...

That and the firing rate is slow.

The firing rate is slow on the K4? That's new.

3 per what? Hour? :bolt:
I had the impression that the 30mm are slow when compared to .50 cal or 17mm.

The MK 108 has a rate of fire of 650 rpm, the Hispano MK II 700 rpm, our 0.50 cal Browning 600 rpm.
Oh, and -1 on the OP wish.

WOW! that is good firing rate for a 30mm. thanks.

then my soundpack needs a serious update (using the Sketchwork now)

Related note: Default P-39 sounds make 3-4 "booms" per actual round. That threw me for a loop. With the MILES sound system updates I removed my custom sounds because they didn't sound right (weren't mixed for the new system). It really surprised me to hear my P-39 spuds exiting so fast, til I realized it's only sound. I need to replace that.

The AN M-2 should have a better rate of fire. TW lists it at just under 800 rpm. Just nit-picking :)

Minor clarification on my earlier post: That's just the values from the AH wiki, which in turn seem to be based on the RW data found in different publications. Actual AH ROF may differ, for example the MK-108 has about 10% less ROF at least in the BF 109 and FW 190A-8.

I seem to recall we hit 800 rpm unsyched, and 600-650 synched (i.e. P-40B) in the game currently.
