Title: Salute to all The Nurses
Post by: ebfd11 on June 21, 2011, 09:32:38 PM
Ladies and Gents,
This is a Salute to all of you who do this job. just a little back story my father is suffering from End Stage Liver Disease due to cirrhosis of the liver. He was not a drinker but it is a genetic thing. I have to worry about it myself. I knew this job was a stressful job but i did not know how stressfull. Right now he is going through the earlier stages of Alzheimer's along with the other medical things and I am beyond stressed, I know he and my mom did for me, what I am doing for him but I can't see how you people do it. I don't want this to be a woe is me post but I realized what you as a nurse, you  go through everyday and i  :salute you. So ladies and gents as I said before thank you for what you do on a daily basis.

There is almost always a shortage of nurses. There are good ones and bad ones.

The good ones are simply amazing and make a huge difference.

Not helping.

To the OP, nurses go through a lot of crap of a daily basis. When family is in the hospital, it is nice to see a nurse with a smiling face and a sunny disposition. I've had about 3 teachers who used to be nurses, they are all cheery and pleasant and they have an aura about them that makes you almost at peace. Going through all that they go through each and every day amazes me to no end, either. They really are remarkable people.

To your father, I wish him the best of luck. I'll send a prayer or two to your family, as well. <S>
Good post.

My prayers and best wishes to your father.
And I certainly agree with you about the nurses.

Hang in there. It's a tough thing to go through but it is a bit of life. I will be sending prayers and thoughts OTW to you and your Dad. Cherish the time and memories you have had with him. In spite of what you are going through, I envy you, you had a Dad for a good portion of your life. May this stage of his journey be short and the reunion joyous.

Thank you gentlemen and like i said before I never realized how much the nurses go through in their job. I wouldn't be able to do that on a daily basis whatsoever, I commend anyone who is looking to get in to that line of work.  :salute

Ya nurses go through a lot.My dad worked in the E.R. downtown till i was about 7 when he got pancreatitis and had to quit. I still remember him having to get up at like midnight and go down to the E.R. .
When I was in the hospital for a week(got a 6 inch long, 1inch deep laceration on my knee and it got infected)they would be in like every 3 hours to check the IV and stuff or if I needed anything. The one funny thing I remember was the only male nurse that came in was around 3am.
:salute
