The French fighter was in the Fall of France. The plane was outclassed by the 109E. The plane was used in 11 squads and was the most produced plane before the Armistice. In 1940, 387 were lost for 187.

The M.S. 406 would be an interesting addition. It would help to make a Fall of France Scenario.

I like the d520 and the HS404 is what evolved into the cannons we have in the tempests, typhoons...etc.

Hardly. If the scenario is played out as if the French government actually let the French military do their thing, ya know like defend France, the Germans would have had their reality check then, and not in 1944.
Contrary to populist beliefs, the French military was quite an able force. Quite capable aircraft, better armored and armed tanks, more troops (and no less capable than German troops), good artillery, a powerful navy (not sure of comparisons vs German navy). Etc.
The sooner people learn to sepertate the French military and the French government, AND learn why the Fench lost they will stop making fools of themselves when they knee-jerk the French/surrender jokes.

Loon, I will back you up on this 100%. I have read many many WW2 Books and after all of my reads have come to that same conclusion. The French Military was ready at every point in the Blitzkrieg that took France and the Low Countries and, at times, able to push the Germans back or put the fear of GOD into them with their powerful flank attacks etc. At no point di I ever read (or hear on any documentary) about French Troops abandoning Positions or "running" unless they were completely out of ammo or overrun, etc. On the other hand, the French Government was so quick to leave Paris that Churchill made 3 different trips there to convince them to fight on. I could go on about this but you get the general Idea. And wasnt the aircraft the Dewoitine D.520???

In the three week Battle of France, 100,000 French soldiers died for France and not a single French unit broke and ran or broke and surrendered. You do not suffer 100,000 dead in three weeks of fighting without fighting and fighting hard. The French soldiers of WWII do not need to hang their heads in shame, nor do they need to stand behind any American, Commonwealth or Russian soldier.

The D.520 was used to replace the M.S.406 but didn't completely. Only 5 Fighter Groups were armed and 3 Naval groups. The D.520 would make an interesting addition with the M.S.406. The Vichy French used both planes.

In Axis VS Allies, you could have the D520 on both sides.

Very true...know I posted above this one, but I will say this, I have...on occasion made my French Army Jokes before I really started reading up on WW2 when I was 14 or 15 and as I learned more and more and heard about the courage of the French Army in WW2, I shut up real quick. <S>
