lmao get rid of the sun! :rofl
-
Sun is kind of an integral part of this solar system we happen to be living in. And it is also something that was and is used to an advantage in air combat.
-
The problem I have with the sun is it seems awful big in your windscreen. And the moon looks like the Deathstar coming in for a landing. Both are larger than life.

I've looked at the sun in AH and compared it by looking at the sun outside my window and have concluded that the AH sun is nowhere near bright enough and needs to be turned up.
I'm not even feeling any heat from it yet.
Please HTC, turn the sun up so that we have a more realistic simulation.
Thank you.

The AH sun is much brighter than the real thing... it shines trough the mountains:

Well, the shining thru mountains is just plain wrong and needs to be fixed, but its brightness in the sky is weak compared to what I'm looking at out my window when looking straight at it. Makes my eyes water, it's so bright. :cry

Stay away from the light..do not go to the Light...
+1 on this wish but keep the moon the same and maybe go a little darker for the nighttime

All hands brace for impact! :D

The brightness is an integral part of the game. the size of the sun... well... if it is only a visual annoyance, then really it isnt a big deal.
I kinda wish the sun did not shine through the mountains AND that those mountains that are in Looshy's pictures produced a shadow, but I dont know how taxing those large shadows would be on the game or player's computers.

HTC spent months on the coad to properly simulate the real-life illusion due to atmospheric effects and the trick the human brain plays on sun and moon sizes. I doubt they'd scrap all that work...
:D

Considering where you live (and having spent 14 years there, I know full well), you need all the sun you can get. :D

Disregarding the glare from the sun the apparent size of the sun and moon from the Earth are roughly the same. Offishual sounding stuff from the Internets:
The sun’s diameter is about 400 times larger than that of the moon – the sun is also about 400 times farther away. So the sun and moon appear nearly the same size as seen from Earth.

+1 Get rid of the sun :D
Getting rid of it for an hour a day (for night flying) would be nice.
:)

It use to be people just asking for sunglasses.. now it's get rid of the sun because it's too bright and people still can't figure out how to not flight straight at it to avoid the glare.... (Except for Ultra-Sun that passes through the tallest mountains and the widest prairies! That should be toned down a tad.)
I say we get rid of gravity because it's annoying, and speed limits.. I mean I hate no being able to catch faster objects. Oh! and the worst by far is getting shot down.. so let's remove the lethality of the ammo and just give points for hits!!! :aok
I beez the gudist wishr. :pray

Gents, stop asking for the sun to go bye-bye. We already have no wind, no rain, no down-draft, no sand storms, no thunderclouds, etc etc. EMBRACE the sun! If you are not using it to your advantage then you are missing the point! :D
-
In one of my terrains I replaced the moon with saturn. Came out pretty cool looking. Sometime I'm going to make a Star Wars type offline mission using 262s on an alien terrain where ill replace those kinds of things for visual effect.

Now getting all those things would be fun.

I wish they would have wind in the MA's. Why not have a 5-10mph wind speed in certain directions and then rotate the driections just like they do with the sun??? Heaven forbid if there is another added inch in the mile long learning curve in AH. :)
-
sometimes people are really dumb THERE IS NO SUN IN THE GAME! IT WOULD BE IMPOSSABLE TO HAVE A SUN IN A GAME

For someone that lives in a region of the world where they get sunlight 24 hours a day during certain months of the year, I am shocked at your disdain for the Sun.

maybe greens just sees it for such a long period of time, it would be nice for them to NOT have some sunlight during that period of time.

Doesn't that counter balance the time of year where Alaska is spent in almost 24 hour a day darkness? :headscratch:

exactly. in X number of months, greens will be begging for the sun again.

Personally I find the suns effects to be very similar to the real thing inasmuch as when I am flying in its direction for any length of time and dont adjust my position so the cockpit frame doesnt block it. I get the exact same splitting headache I get when looking in the direction of the real thing for extended periods.
That being said. I still wish it would stop shining through things it should never shine through. Like the clipboard for example and in particular.

Since the dawn of civilization mankind has yearned to blot out the sun.

The biggest trouble with the sun is the timing.
It seems to only hit high noon at 1:00 am EST which is when the arena is emptying and it's just above the horizon most other times.
-
serious wish guys, tad the brightness down alittle. for u trollers go do something productive insteada try to be man n falling short.

When a large monitor becomes quickly full bright white, then could this damage your eyes?
Yes HTC less full sun white bright option in the game pls.

Lol, no.

I just wish the sun in game would give me a tan so I wouldn't have the eternal glow of a cave dweller.
-
"Lol, no."
Why not Grizz?
5 sec on it it's dangerous as to me - no data yet.
:salute
-
Its not to hard to just adjust the angle to hide the sun

The sun shining throught the ground/hills is an irritation.

WOOOOOOOOT? Even an Apple screen?

Your monitor is not as bright as the sun.
But say you very rarely left the house; the AH Sun, IT BURNS!! MY EYES!! IT BURNS!!
-
Your monitor is not as bright as the sun.
I find it amusing that someone needed this explained to them :aok
-
Well, there is a difference between absolute magnitude and apparent magnitude. ;)
-
I have a couple of beefs with the Sun in AH:
1.The pilots had irises, sunglasses, thumbs, & eyes that can squint. AH pilots don't.
2. The problem with the shadows on objects appears to be fixed (I pointed out a while back and was fixed soon after), but when looking at the sun the cockpit instrument panel should appear to get dimmer and NOT brighter. This is due to having an iris. When looking at a bright light your iris closes (you might say it ain't so...smoe), therefore, light off other objects will appear to dim.
