Very nice!
What are you using for an on-board camera?
I've been looking for a decent one that meets some pretty strict requirements of mine. I've played with the Flycamone2, but really need something better. I'd like better video quality of course, but need the camera to be self-contained, tiny, and very light. Ideally, I need it about the size and shape of a tube of chapstick, with the lense aligned to point out the top of the cap, straight up. Any ideas? I have two candidates I'm looking at, but I'm still not "sold" on them.

Well, for onboard video I am using what we call a "keychain cam" looks almost exactly like an alarm fob for a keychain. You can also remove the casing and just use the circuit board. Records to a micro SD card. it works very well, but, I am not sure if the shape will fit your needs.
although it is VERY small and lightweight... without the case people are even using them on the ultra-micro RCs..
(mbailey, my wife said thank you for the compliment, and my Habu (the jet) also says thank you...)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YugioiuSmuo - highest altitude , takes a while to get there, then engine quite.. glide to land in field

Hmm, I've seen that one. That might work, actually. I wonder how hard it would be to remove the case and remount it into a home-made case?
I'm looking for a camera to attach to a backpack that my birds normally carry a radio transmitter on. The camera that I have now weighs less than an ounce, but flops side to side, and interferes if she takes deep strokes while flapping. It'd probably work on a large bird like a redtail, but I'm really hoping to put it on a falcon.

Not bad at all! I do all my flying off of streets too. It's a benefit of living in farmland.

Make it seem so easy

it would be EASY to do that mtn, and it should work fine! Even on a falcon. These things weigh next to nothing when taken out of the case, in fact many folks put them on ultra-micro planes (little foam planes weighing a few ounces) I would think the cam and case would weigh about the same or less than the "backpack" you mentioned!

I think I may be sold... I'll look into that one. It's cheap enough on ebay, I see ($40).
