How about making the buildings, barns, trees etc the same size they would in real life at "x" altitude. I was flying at 2k and noticed barns and trees the size as if I were flying several hundred feet off the ground. I'm at 13k and can still make out the barns etc...
Thats my .02 wish lol

Nothing wrong with that.

Next time you fly, check how high you are when you lose the ability to identify individual cars on the highway. Use the flight tracking screen to see your altitude.
For me it is around 20,000ft.
-
I've jumped out of planes from 3k to 23k and I don't recall barn size buildings being that large at 3k etc or 2k
-
I can pick out tractor trailers on the highway at cruising altitude in a jet......whatever that happens to be

35-40 thousand feet or so...
-
yes...you can pick out cars and trucks etc from 30k...just making sure size of objects correlate to altitude that's all
-
If you put your airplane next to the barn in the game and the two are correctly sized, what is wrong?
-
nevermind, misread what fud was reporting...i get just the opposite effect.

You are correct...now go to 6000 ft and the barn should be much smaller than whats shown in the game. The size of the barn is like your at several hundred feet.

????
It doesn't change, it's the same size..

I think he's trying to say that the size of the barn won't change, but it should appear smaller and smaller the higher up you go... Just a guess...
I predict this will not get resolved if my assumption isn't correct.

In reality, I can see barns in rural areas up to cruising alt (35-40k as previously stated)?
The barn will seem smaller, but it shouldn't appear microscopic at 6k like you're making it sound like it should be.

Neva been flyin have ya boy?

Not microscopic just how they should appear at "X" altitude.

Yes...many times...
-
Have you tried a wider field of view? That should make the buildings appear smaller for a given altitude.
-
the 3D graphic object representing a farm doesn't change size with your altitude. These mushrooms growing in your basement are not meant to be eaten.

A good question to ask might be.....
"how big is your monitor?"
It could just be that you are playing off a projector and that is why everything is so big compared to "real vision"
What would happen if you play on a 10" screen? Correct... Everything would be "too small"
EDIT: Fixing Stupidity.

Because sooo many people play this game on a ten foot screen, right?

That doesn't make any sense. If it is correct at 50ft, it will be correct at 5,000ft and 50,000ft. It cannot be correct at some ranges and incorrect at other ranges.
Are you sure you weren't looking at a barn sitting at 2,500ft when you were flying at 6,000ft or such? Ground level is not sea level.

Fixed.......... :bolt:

I wouldn't think AH would have ASL and AGL in the game. For instance, taking off from a 6k field would be 6k ASL and the base of the field is 0 ASL? I'll take off from a 6k field and fly down to "barn" level and read the altimeter to be sure.

This thread is SO gonna have something coming thats sig worthy, I can feel it :rofl

All altitudes in AH are based on sea level. If you take off from a 6,000ft field and climb to an altitude of 10,000ft, you are 4,000ft above the field you took off of.

What is this wish even talking about? I'm so confused.
-
Forget the wish. I shoulda put this in general forum...As I was taking off from the 6k 1v1 base in the DA, I flew down to the barns and noticed they are about 5kish. I was figuring that the ground at the base of the 6k mesa was sea level. Sorry for the confusion
