i asked for this wish before just thought i would ask again
we need a .Dmg in the TA its a pain to land a B29 with no elevators so my wish is a new dot (.) command here is how it works
say i want to know how long a 262 will run with both engines smoking so i type this in the chat buffer ".dmg engine 1 oil" this would of course damage engines 1s oil
another example: i want to learn how to land a B29 with out elevators so i type ".dmg left elevator" then press enter then type .dmg right elevator"
i think this would help a lot of people to learn these kind of things :aok

Can you do that on AH now? Type in ".dmg ____"(fill airplane part) and you airplane will take damage?

i really wish you could

umm would like some more people thoughts on this

Could be useful if you want to learn to fly different planes with say, half a wing
or maybe 2 engines out on the right wing of a B-17.
This might be a handy tool in the TA.

i wished for something like this awhile back.
the ability to damage and repair certain parts of your plane so people could practise how a plane performs missing some parts.
my wish was for offline tho.

It might be easier (for both coding and us players) if you could bring up a clipboard list of all the damagable parts of whatever plane you're flying. Then, just select what you want destroyed. When the list is closed, those parts are destroyed and you go merrily on your way.

this will work

Do you mean like, under the "Destroy Objects" In the options menu?

I've tried to stay on an even keel with half a wing in many different planes. The only one that I came even CLOSE to landing was the C-47.
As for the second thing, you could just shut down the two right engines-- I have done this on multiple occasions.
PS. A B-29 with 20x500lbs and 25% will not fly on two engines. :(

and what about the first thing the B29 with no elevators or like one elevator? how would you do that?
PS most of any planes will fly with half of a wing

You can get all the practice you want without this feature. simply, don't use aileron. You can use rudder to bank left to right. One time in the landing pattern, my instructor had me fly the entire pattern with throttle and rudder only. The same can be simulated here.

B4 for some cases you can just not use that... But you always run the risk of cross-inputting controls (hard to ONLY use elevator, not aileron) and some cases you cannot do this, like missing a wingtip.
Most bombers will not fly missing a wingtip. I'm not sure if it's right because when lightly loaded or after bombs drop you would think it has enough lift to spare. The only one I did was a B-25H where a wirble got my wingtip. I was oriented such and had just enough speed that I could nose up, full rudder, level just enough to pop flaps and gear and land right there. It was a rare moment as I've never been able to repeat it. I taxied in to land safely.

I believe the OP wants the ability to be able to enable structural damage as well, in order to see how that particular
plane will behave. I just used engines out as an example.

You're very right about the wingtips. That can't be simulated without actually losing a part of the wing. I was referring specifically to the ailerons. I'm definitely not against this wish. Olds should just know that with a bit of discipline, you can simulate some of these situations.
