I'll stick with my DT90s if I ever get back to playing.
It's not all the ball. I used to love it when guys asked to see my driver after setting one out 340 yards. They'd check out the steel shaft and persimmon head and grimmace.
I played with that set for my first 5 years in golf. They would be swinging big berthas with special shafts and still hitting first. :)

I haven't played golf in a long time, so a few years back, I gave a few dozen balatas to a friend who golfed, and when I asked her how she did, she said she lost every ball in a single round...
This was before I realized that the majority of good players stopped playing with balatas and some people still look for them.

I love prov1x! Takes the spin out of my driver but I can pull that string on the green.

Yup I have to agree with ya shuff, all the fancy clubs and balls dont mean a thing if you aint got that swing! :D
I have a set of golden bears, old spaldings with persimmon heads and I love them,I have some modern clubs but they just dont do anything for me. And those high compression balls..... if you cant squash the pearl why bother.
Really wish I could still play but I cant hold on to the clubs anymore,so I get my fix on the Wii.... :rofl :rofl :rofl

I have a $90 set of clubs I bought in the summer of '90, and they can most certainly golf better than I can. I might consider replacing them when my skills exceed their abilities, but in the meantime it's seems only fair to them to try to live up to their potential. Not to mention, it's a whole lot of fun to beat the snot out of someone who has invested more in his glove than I have in my clubs.
:lol

Nucks,
I'd suggest you get some wedges instead of upgrading the clubs anyways. as you said they play better than you and thats the case for almost and club and golfer.Maybe if you shoot scratch golf would you need better than average clubs.
Now I have to drag out the Wii all this talk has me jonesing... :rofl

I'll stick with with the clubs I have, they offer incredible bragging rights when I win, and a perfect excuse when I lose. Oh, and even though god can't hit my 1 iron, it hit's the green with impunity.

I have a frustration iron,it's my illegal 15th club, the shaft is spring steel coated with plastic. If swung correctly it will wrap around a small tree and spring back, carefull of the back swing.... :devil I've had many offers to buy it once it's seen in action..... :lol
