Rud3boi, B2B and myself have been talking and have come to the conclusion we need to do a North Eastern gathering.
So cmon gents speak up with any ideas you have and lets see if we can get this goin <S>
-
when, where? Ct, MA, NY corner in MA. interested.
-
I don't know when. Hopefully soon. Lets see what kinda responses we get and go from there
-
I'm just about in the middle of Connecticut.
Depending what weekend this will take place, I might be able to make it.
-
Myself (Stainman) and my brother Bat21 live in CT. Let us know what's going on and we'll see if we can attend.
-
close enough for me to make it :aok
-
Define "Surrounding area". NY is a pretty big place. I'd be interested if its only an over night trip at the worst. But my business is too busy now to anything much longer then that.
Kinda a good news bad news deal. LOL
-
I'm an hour North of Manhattan on the Hudson, I know CAP1 is in NJ, SIRB in LI.
http://www.americanairpowermuseum.com would be a great venue to meet up.
-
South central Mass here (where CT,RI, and Ma connect). Availability.... well who knows. My family isn't big on "planning" things, drives me nuts! :bhead
I'll see if I can get there when you guys nail down a date.

I'm right down the road from this place and it's awesome. Plus there are some really good bars not too far from it and plenty of hotels
-
In Philadelphia... would be interested too
-
I am central Pa.....keep me posted
-

If you get a room with DMGOD, make sure there is no box fan or baby powder. If you have a chastity belt for the bum, wear it.

In. Still recovering mentally from the last time but happy there'll be some chaperones.
-
I'm right on the MA NH border ,so close enough.I might be interested in making it if not (too) soon, like end of summer or something.
-
If NYC, the were doing McSorleys. No substitutes
-
There's quite a few of us from Jersey, Pa. too :aok
 Oz
-
I am in the southern part of NJ. Near Camden.
-
theres some interest... a day trip to start at the musuem possibly... in time turn it into the Dayton gathering?
for me its a 3 hour ride...through NYC itself...in a standard transmission. could be a nightmare gettin there and back :lol
-
I'm in but do we need the Jersey guys to come. Look at all there shows. They don't know how to act. :neener:
-
Long Island here. Count me in-just need a little advance notice. I think there are airshows at Pease AFB and Atlantic City this summer so either one could be an option. The Intrepid Air Museum in New York City is pretty interesting for those who have never been aboard a carrier and there are tons of places in the city to go for food/drink. Time and money are always of concern so if the New York guys want to do something quick and local let's pick a convenient central location and get on with it.
-
Central PA here, if we would have it in NY it should be a location that is easily accessible....I've never been into NYC but i'm guessing it's a nightmare.
Does anyone know of any nice reasonable campgrounds in NY or a hotel where we could rent a bunch of rooms and have a central room with multiple computers going?

NYC a nightmare?! Having been there a billion times I'd have to disagree with you but my opinion might be a little biased.
If we do the the American Air Space Museum in Farmingdale there are camp grounds there. As for reasonable hotel there are a couple but they usually charge by the quarter hour.
My 2 cents I think B2B has a good Idea with the Intrepid Air museum.

my basement apt...but its going to be little cramped

NYC's a breeze, lol. I used to drive a Tractor/trailer there every day. Any GM Dealership you see in Brooklyn,
Staten Island, L.I.City,etc. I used to deliver parts from GM Plant in Bensalem, Pa to the Burroughs :aok
NYC not as bad as people make it. It used to be as soon as you cross Verrazanno, lay on the horn :rofl
Just like NYers. Now they have signs, that warn you, if you hit the horn you get a ticket.
I used to love it, BQE(Brooklyn-Queens Expressway) backed up?
I would just take 3rd Ave all the way out to Verrazano :D
 Oz

Westchester County denizen, here. :salute

I'm just outside of Hartford... NYC is a pretty impersonal place to meet, and for the price of getting there/parking/doing anything we could probably have a much better time somewhere more rural.
It depends on how centralized you'd like to make things. Pretty much anything (that can reasonably call itself "north east," with the exception of maybe parts of Maine) is going to be 2-4 hours max for folks like Delirium and me, but could push 8 for others depending on where you'd have it.
The Connecticut/Mass border has a nice location of its own at the New England Air Museum. It's extremely close to the hotels near Bradley International, and is also well within range of outdoors pursuits. There's probably a camp ground or two somewhere up that way, though I'm not sure.
-
Im just south of boston(20 minutes), id be willing to take a ride.

Yeah Con/ Mas border too far for me as for NYC being impersonal and expensive, There is always free parking and there a billion great things to do for free.

I see people from NJ, Maryland, PA, are there any others from DE except me
-
Im on the jersey shore. I can;t drive anymore because of some meds I take. Stupid doctors, but I would suggest Manhatten. for a meet. Trains or busses all seem to go there from anywhere. Anyway thats my thoughts.
Floatsup.
-
lets set a date for a manhatten meet at "off the wagon" (my fav bar and has a foozball table) on macdougal st between bleeker and 4th or Peculier Pub on bleeker and laguardia has over 10,000 types of beer and 20 on tap :aok

ive been going there once every 2-3 yrs for last 20 lol i went about 3months ago. best thing there is the fj-3 fury (f-86) navy version and a tbm only 1 ww2 plane they used to have a hellcat instead of the fj3 but i guess they traded for it. so the bar would do it for me. but if u guys want to go there in the day ill meet ya at the bar later
-
Could meet at Battleship NJ in Camden (not whole town is crazy).
They also have the Aquarium there. Philly right across bridge!
Also, in Camden are the Riversharks (Minor league baseball).
Obviously plenty to see and do around Philly, especially historical stuff!
 Oz
-
I'm ok with going to just the bar. So all that's left is time and date

I hope she's ok sir :pray
-
Outside Buffalo but for all your sakes I'd defer and probably wouldn't attend.
And, especially if meeting in a bar once the gin goes in I wouldn't make much sense anyway [ as some of you found out ]
I'm barely tolerable on the internet, in person I'm 100% pudding head.
-
Rolling Thunder is planning one just 2 miles north of PHILLY in Bensalem PA in August, we did this last year with a good turn out, we used the Marriot had people stay at the hotel a we had a large conference room with hard line internet hook up great reception. If you guys want to combine with us on this event we would be happy to accommodate, just PM me and we could get this together.
