Title: [YouTube Film] Come Fly With Cheech

Come join Zeke and I for a kill or two. When I started flying this plane I was laughed at. It was the "Roman Candle" and the shouts of "Noob at 12k in a Zeke" were common.
Now the cries are of "easy mode" or "trainer plane" - translation - "I just got whooped again."

This is my first full video in about 3 years and I had to relearn how to make them. Yes, I forgot to turn the horizon on while capturing and yes, I forgot to re-download the Hi-Res pack too, until it was too late. I was too far in by the time I realized to go back and re-capture all the shots. The penultimate shot feels a little 'busy' for a pre-landing clip and I perhaps should have just gone for a 'plain plane filler shot'. The effects were used to cover over stutters in the film viewer when capturing.

Once again, YouTube has borked me on quality but folks generally aren't interested in downloading 2gb movies in their original format anymore.

I used MSI Afterburner (Free - no banner) to capture from AHF - See my thread here: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,309172.msg3994619.html#msg3994619 and download from here: http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm

From there I used Sony Vegas 9.

The music is Pretty Lights Vs NIN Vs Radiohead Vs Nirvana and is available for free from http://www.prettylightsmusic.com

That is some darn good shooting!  You should make another, but make sure ye maxed the graphics (if you can). :D  Then submit it to HTC to see if it will get posted on the Main Page. :aok  Ell, try to see if it will be accepted as a Main Page video now.  I think it would be a good one. :salute

That's the thread to post this link for front page consideration.

really enjoyed it, some really cool effects and timing.   Was going to say it needed more cockpit shots but you got one in towards the end.    :aok

Yeah, the trouble with cockpit shots is three-fold. I always forget to roll Afterburner when I'm flying. I used TrackIR-ish and views aren't recorded. I capture at 1/4 speed and head transitions aren't slowed down by AHFV so when the film is sped up the movements look instant and are rather off-putting. I'll try and slap a nice loong cockpit shot in the next film.

Awesome man...liked the effects, music, and editing.  Normally AH2 vids are more along the lines of "AC/DC" music, so I wasn't sure how the music was going to tie in.  Regardless, nice effort...

Now that film is FANTASTIC! Great choice of song, great editing skills and timing along with the astonishing filming! I wonder how you actually managed to keep track of 1 vs 1 dogfights in a single shot  :headscratch:. I believe it might be a bunch of different recording sequences separated by a paused ahf player am I right?

Again, awesome work!

Nope, there's no splicing. Each shot as you see it is a single shot from AHFV. Some angles are easy to find, some take hours of trial and error.

And thanks!
