Title: Military Discount?
Post by: POSJ on July 10, 2011, 08:53:07 PM
I am currently AD Air Force and was wondering if High Tech Creations offers any discount for active duty guys?  I love the game but my two week trial ran out already and $14.95 is a little too much for me to pay since I have a 3 month old son now.  Sorry if this comes off as a pity me post as that is not what is intended.  Thank you.

So is this the right place for the HTC guys to see the question?  Maybe they can implement one.

Well Aces High is a game much like call of duty and brothers in arms and play station sure dose not give discounts for (anyone) wanting to play a (game).
I know that having a baby can be a strain on money but 15 $ is really very little and one can usually find a way to save that in other places, though i could very well be very wrong.

I hope you can find the money to play we love all the new players we can get.

And that's my useless and most likely wrong two cents.  :salute

At what point does your country's gratitude have to end?

Be realistic here, uncle sam already paid you to do your job, the american populace already thanked you for your service, and you have extra benefits due you that most do not.

My Grandfathers (yep both of them), and my great uncles, went through alot more than most of you did and they went on to raise families, be employed in the workforce and generally lead productive lives where they paid for everything they needed/wanted out of their own pockets. In fact, you owe them the very freedom that allows you to do what you do, and they asked for nothing in return.

What makes you so special?

It's $0.49 a day

And yes, before you ask, I am retired Military, and I payed for my kids education.

Its not the cost of the game. Its the cost of having a pc and interent access. If you can afford those, you can afford the game. My brother is active army. When he tells me about his re-enlistment bonuses, bennies, and base pay I cringe. I was air force for 4 years and made pennies compared to what he hauls in. When he tells me, I just say "YOUR welcome."

WTF?

<soapbox> Considering the risk the men & women of the armed services take on so we don't have too and can live the life we do, they don't get paid enough</soapbox>

The guy just asked a simple question. He's not asking if they could give him one, just if one existed. In this economy, everyone except the extremely wealthy are looking for corners to cut everywhere.

Why not save a buck or two if you can? Would be stupid to just throw it away, and that's what you do when you ignore a discount.

Good, God almighty.

You guys need to quit being @$-$ holes when we get new players. That s$!t is getting old. This game is already low on active numbers compared to where it used to be. You'd be surprised at how that little "I'm super uber B.A. on the interwebzez" attitude can affect the overall numbers of the game. Yeah, you're a cave man who likes to challenge other males to assert what little dominance and false confidence you have on the internet because your wife runs the house and took your balls away and locked them up out of your reach.

[Note: This is directed to the sour individuals whose company I would rather not be a part of due to the sheer fact that their attitude would make an ogre upset because even an ogre is happy when he's killed something and can bite its head off....]

Haha not you. I saw one post and figured I'd put my foot down (like it matters lol) before someone else jumped in.

"Back in my day it was 324325325325 miles to school. It was uphill both ways and was always 30 below or 130º! You girls have it easy now!" - sums it up lol

Umm... can I get an old poor guy discount... I mean Sr. Citizen discount?

Oh wait.  HTC would be out of business if they gave those away.

Maybe they should though and advertise through AARP.  Make it up in volume.

Just spit balling here, has the cost of living not gone way way way up? not to mention the economy is so crappy finding work is a awful? Being frugle (sp?) Is almost necissary
imo.

Thanks your relatives and even yourself, because after seeing hell, I appreciate all who have had to have travel there aswell.

And as for the money and gratitude and what have you, look as it like a lottery....millions play, but not all get to collect the prize. so y not make it something worth, idk, say possible death, and at very least the kind of hardship most people will never understand. Just because our horse marines, donkey soldiers, row boat sailors, and biplane airmen (got creative when describing the oldies :p), had it rough as hell, should the low quality off life (in the service) they received stay the sane. Id think theyd want their younger breathren to b better off then them.

Congrats on the offspring good sir

The immediate problem that springs to mind is verification. I know my records are sealed (just the way the UK does it post service). Aware there are a few other UK ex forces play this game as well.

Would it only apply to ex/current US forces members, or anyone who has been in the Armed Forces of their respective country?

Fwiw, I'm thinking active service members should receive a discount, but hey ho, I'm not in charge of anything.

This has to be a joke..... Or else is it genuine stupidity?

Not really sure why it turned into a personal attack on me for asking the question.  Anyway, situations change and like many have said the economy has turned south and incomes aren't what the use to be.  My job is secure, yes I understand that, but my wife's is not.  When Uncle Sam gives you a 2 month notice to move from ND to AZ the price of living increases a good amount.  If there is not a discount that is fine, I wasn't demanding one, I was just posing the question.  Thank you to those of you that have support for the military.  Also, thank you to those that don't, at least you enjoy your freedom of speech, you're welcome.

Here, I'll tell you the one good answer nobody else here has, the forum (this forum or any other on the HTC BBS) is
NOT
the place to ask this question.  Take it to support@hitechcreations.com or billing@hitechcreations.com, or call their phone number during buisness hours.  They're a good real-people company, if you take the time to set aside talking to them, they will too.  They'll write you back or take the time to answer your questions over the phone.  I can't speculate, but they can (and have been known to) probabley help you out in the short-term until a reasonable time when you'll be settled and willingly capable of subscribing.

No good will come of this thread though.

:salute and thank you for your service.

Nice one, Babylonian, with the contact info.

About the second last thing... I've been waiting for Skuzzy to lock this one up for a while now, ever since RTR brought up the controversy over 15$ being hard to put together.

It is hard to come up with enough money a lot of the time, especially with the economy being what it is now. Neither of my parents are in the Canadian Forces---still a struggle to pay the bills a lot of the time. Mum's a minister, dad's a funeral director. Decent pay. Add 4 kids, and it would be extremely hard for them to add ANOTHER 15$ onto what is already being spent at my house... It's crazy. That's pretty much the only reason I don't play AH online now, is because if my parents wouldn't be able to afford it, why should I? Why should I be spending more time on the computer, more time on the internet, more time not doing anything, when I could be doing laundry, cleaning house in general, doing dishes...

Just what I think about this thread. And a bit of other stuff too.

I'm sorry if I seemed at all disrespectful to anyone. It wasn't meant in the first place.
