Gents, each month I run monthly stats for my squad in order to see who
qualifies for what campaign ribbons we've got. It gets to be pretty tedious
and I'd like to save myself some time in compiling 'em.
I have "Open Office" which has a spreadsheet program within it.
Is there anyone here who could make me up a template in which I
could just "plug in" the numbers and things such as Kills per Death,
Kills per Sortie would "magically" appear in the proper column? :)
Here's an example of the last "Tour of Duty" stats I did: http://www.the-47-ronin.org/tours-of-duty/tour-of-duty-136.html (http://www.the-47-ronin.org/tours-of-duty/tour-of-duty-136.html)
And here's how they're used. Some are a "daily" type of thing like "The Divine Wind" for landing 5 kills, but others
are worked up only on a monthly basis, such as "The Emperor's Eagle", "The Katana", and "The Yumi".
http://www.the-47-ronin.org/47ronin-ribbons.htm (http://www.the-47-ronin.org/47ronin-ribbons.htm)
Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

do you mean like an excel file which has column for say Kills, sorties, deaths, landings, etc. and then when you plug those numbers in manually it gives you K/d, K/s, etc on its own?
If so, i can make you one.

Flight, that's it exactly. But I don't have Excel. What I've got is freeware called "Open Office".
http://www.openoffice.org/ (http://www.openoffice.org/)
I don't know if it's compatible with XLS files or not. The columns that I would need to
do the computing (per the link in the first post) would be (1) Kills per Death (2) Kills per Sortie
(3) Kills per Assist and (4) Bails per sortie.
Many thanks,
Oddball

i looked at the site and it said it recognizes files made by "other software packages" so it sounds like it can read excel files. Ill make an excel file and send it to you and if you cant get it to work, then i can download ur program and remake it.

.
Our squad flies to have fun.... no score, no comparisons...... just plain old fun. It's not tedious at all. :D

(4) Bails per sortie.
That just caught me as being kinda weird. :headscratch:

Odd's does too, we just like seeing who gets what.
It's merely a tool to get the chaps to improve their flying me thinks :D

Ahh understood. I can see where that may help. All our squad pretty much sucks at flying but we have fun.

If my squad ever gets into the same league as yours, maybe we'll do away with trackin' stats. ;)

Attaboy Rosie, stickin' up for the boss...let's see...I think I'll make up a campaign ribbon for that, too. :rock

Thanks, Flight. Sending a PM with my email address. <S>

You know Oddball it's definitely feasible and pretty fun to write a program to grab the stats on whoever is on your squad roster and then have it analyze them and just tell you what awards go to who. Could be a neat project.
