I believe what the system is attempting to tell you is that the shortcut is pointing to an aceshigh.exe which is not in the installation folder so it cannot find the files it needs in order to run. So you might try creating another shortcut for the desktop if thats the one that is malfunctioning.

Jo, navigate to c:\hitech creations\aces high and resend your ah icon to the desk top (right click and send to desktop).
Delete the one currently on your desktop and quick start bar, unlock the task bar, drag and drop the new icon down there, and you should be good to go.

Did you try running the game as the Administrator?
That worked for me when my Aceshigh was acting up.

Try reinstalling AH, but not adding a shortcut to your desktop for it.
Then running it as administrator from the Start menu.
Ik, it sounds weird, but it worked for me once when my AH would crash immediately when i went to enter online.
otherwise, you may just need to wait till the next update. on my old computer AH wouldn't even open when i clicked it. then i downloaded the update off the main page, and it worked fine.

This is where I agree that helping others may be beneficial. That way if a newbie had some troubles, such as you are having, you could assist him/her with being
able to at least log onto the game.
Hope you have it straightend out.

This happens to me when my computer has trouble coming out of sleep. I have to erase the the sysinfo.cfg file and then everything works perfectly. Very strange.

I'll do that next time it happens :aok

Windows Vista and Windows 7 have serious problems with the "sleep" mode. I would strongly encourage you not to use it.
