Additionally we are currently developing user spawned arenas to serve as an expanded and HTC hosted version of the old 8 player H2H. The introduction of this feature will also lessen the need for a second late war arena.
Anyone have any tidbits of info on what might be coming? Stuff like number of players, how (if at all) configurable with the arenas be, etc?

Unfortunatley this was a relatively recent anouncement, you know as much of the details as anyone else here at the moment.

I wonder what they'll call it now? "User Spawned Arenas", USA? Somehow H2H doesn't fit anymore.

I'm not sure this is a great idea for HTC.
I'm sure our russian and brazilian friends are waiting with baited breath.

Why do you say that? From everything I've read here on the boards from HTC, these arenas will be created by and accessible to only paying customers. I see it as a way to possibly increase the subscriber base, which is good for HTC and the players.

I'm still wondering how we will be able to run a custom map in these arenas....

There is a new terrain uploader ready that does version control and checking on your terrains, then it uploads all that is needed to our servers.
After which you or anyone else can use the terrain, but only you or us can modify it.

Excellent!

As long as there is some sort communication with a HTC server required to authenticate subscription, it should be ok.
