Is there a way we can get a check box for the damage list to be defaulted on. Perhaps in the flight menu like where you can turn tracers on/off and autostart. :pray
-
Just make it one of your "preflight checks"... and turn it on before you take off.
-
Its easier just to hit the key command isn't it? I mean it's two keystrokes.
-
map it to your stick or throttle if you have extra buttons.
-
or i can just check it once and have it defaulted on every time i fly. Its an easy wish to implement.
-
I have mine mapped to stick. Hit a button on...hit it again off
...I would like to see the "I'm on fire!" on the damage list lol.

Or maybe HTC could coad our cartoon pilots arms flailing about while screaming helplessly. That way we'd know we were on fire :x

sure, control + D

sure, control + D
:bhead I get that. I just dont see a need for me to have to press it every single flight. A simple on/off checklist option so it is on all the time by default is all I'm asking. You would still be able to use cntl + D for the times when you are in multiple gunner vehicles to turn it off at the moment but it would default back on in the next sortie. I don't understand the resistance you guys seems to have to this. :headscratch:
-
I don't think it's resistance just some suggestions in case they don't make your requested change. It's fine with me.

so u are saying u want somthing that you open clipboard to view damage?that means u gotta press esc and then go click on it,open it up,then hit esc again to close it.IMHO control + D is alot easyer.theres absolutley no reason to change how it currently is
-
no, he is asking for a check box to set the damage list to either "always on" or "always off". That way instead of using crtl D every flight you can use the check box once to set the default for every flight. The current damage display in the upper left corner would still be the visual used when the box is checked.
+1

well u got time while your engine is starting up to hit control D.a checkbox is really not needed

I did what flatiron1 suggested and have both damage list and system display mapped to two buttons on my stick. I wish I could add the E6B as a single button. :old:

Lab Rat, what if, for the E6B, it appeared automatically on your display, in the same way that frame rate and other such trivialities are set up?
i.e. Ctrl+__ would enable/disable E6B on moniter display.

because then you would have to press ctrl key to make it go away. hard to do fast while in middle of fight. hey b17 you still playing the game?

But that's the thing, is that if you could toggle getween having the E6B or not, in the same fashion as the framerate (same way of display as the framerate, I mean) It would be relatively out of the way, but you could still see it fairly easily. Confusing enough? :P
And Semp, I am still playing AH, but not online. If you ever saw 'piper96' online, that was me in my 2 weeks. I am now contemplating sending in a money order to HTC, all the way down in Texas, so I can visit my beloved Flying Forts with gunner attached!

you will be soon running out of screen. damage report takes up 1/2 the left screen. Ctrl I takes up the top. text box is at the bottom and that leaves you with the right side. in other words, you will truly have a Hud that could possibly show you everything except the con in front of you :).
hope to see you soon up in the air :salute.

This is true... here I am forgetting about damage report in a thread about it... my hijack. Sorry!
And the right side is where the clipboard goes!! :D
I'd love to be flying for at least a couple of weeks in August... Anybody know how long it would take for a money order to make it by mail from Toronto to Fort Worth?
Semp, :salute and what was your ingame name?

:huh By that logic a check box is not needed for engine start up either as it is just one key "e", yet we have one for it.

also remember the "e" key is to start the gv's engine. so in the old days, the check box was to make sure you spawn with plane engine already on, but in gv you had to manually press "e". of course now it's auto "on" for gv's but the pseudo option "on" still there for airplane.

In rethinking about the E6B :headscratch:
I would rather have it as a checkbox; so that it appears (or not) automatically when you call up the clipboard.
Seems like I can remember other players making this wish.
As it is now, it's part of my preflight.
As soon as I start my engines, I hit a button on my stick for the clipboard, check E6B, and collapse the clipboard as I am rolling.
-
Actually the more I think about it, my original wish for a button would be better.
A Clipboard Maps button would be more than welcome, too.
My version of these buttons would call either item up as a single image. Separate from the clipboard.
But would be atached to the clipboard as we now have it, if either button has been pushed, and the clipboard activated.
just my thoughts on the subject. :old:
-
:O OMG..... have we all become so lazy to even press 2 buttons?

my thoughts exactly. press crontrol d, easy enough. or bring up clipboard, move mouse press a button. is like asking for a button on the clipboard to lower landing gear.

Its 2 buttons every single sortie, we have auto takeoff which starts the engines for you (1 button) on the checklist what is the difference?
