The following I wrote on our bomb group's forum:
I have terminated my AH subscription. I simply do not have the time, and finances continue to be very tight despite working a full time job with occasional overtime. I have also been concentrating on my music endeavor as well as looking after the family.
So, I will say it is up to you, the 91st crew, to decide what you want to do with this outfit.
It's been fun creating & participating in a group that loves different aspects of the game, and it's great to know people that have a genuine interest in the living history represented in AH.
So, keep having fun. For now, I do not foresee a return to the game. Everything is too expensive, and other priorities have been brought to the forefront.
I will keep in touch on occasion through the forums & as always on Facebook.
thndrEGG
To the rest of the AH outfit: Thanks for making it a fun place to play. Thanks for helping me make bomb missions in B17's still a cool thing to do.
I wish I could come back, but with no time and extremely slim money, the possibility is very remote.
Fair skies & give 'em Hell. :aok

Thunder, this is truly a sad day for me. The 91st was my first squad and you my first CO. You have personally been a mentor and a friend and I really hate to see you go! We all will miss the fun that was a "Thunderegg" epic bomber mission (I will not mention any chickens here if you know what I mean) and I think that I can speak for the entire squad in stating that you are a great person, a great CO and a great friend to us all.
Not sure what will happen to the squad, but we will certainly do our best to keep your seat warm! Best of luck in all that you do and Godspeed to you and your family!
I WILL call you from time to time just to keep you up to date - LOL

Sir
Thunder's greatest asset and contribution was in drawing out the qualities Dichotomy speak's of in the 'other' players who flew with him.
He set a tone and temper in his missions that cultivated the finest in game play amongst his crews, and the groups that escorted him
Thunder has the unique ability to make pilots and people better...energized...inspired ...dedicated to mission...team...squad
I was only briefly a member of the 91'st (3 months in the end)...yet that short time eclipsed years of flying with other squads
Pure class...nothing touches it
======
Your presence will be missed Boss; your contribution will never be forgotten
Catch you on the flip side

Wow, we sure have a good many members when you look at how many pages a post from each fills up. And more are still coming. Not to be disrespectfull of the thread or anything, just comenting.
<S> again thundr. Already missing you sir.

Thanks again, guys. Don't know how things will go in the future, if I'll make it back or not. Too many real life "irons in the fire".

thndregg,
Good luck, whatever your future brings. Hopefully someday you'll get the bug again and be in a situation where you have the time.
:salute

Gonna post again, just because.
Thndr was one of the inventors of the "bish horde" missions, but back then they were always a challenge and always fun. He always made each run unique, something that would always make the enemy say "wtf?" Whether it be taking a base from across the sea on the trinity map, or bombing a port with 30+ b5ns. He made 3 hour bomber runs exciting, something I would look forward to all week. If there was no action, I was always entertained by the humor and hospitality of him and the rest of the 91st. He was the one who turned me on to the B-17, ole' reliable who never quits. I was seriously considering joining the 91st until BAR contacted me about the 20th.
Phil, I will always consider you the best person this game has ever had, and you are without a doubt one of the most well-respected players on here. The comments in this thread are a testament to that. I hope you find happiness in your life and with your music ambitions, and if you need help with anything, shoot me a PM and I will be happy to lend a hand. By the way, I have an "I survived the A9 raid" t-shirt for you :)
Whether you return or not, thank you for 2 years of great memories

Farewell egg-a-legga....best of luck in all that comes your way.
-
:rock on to you Boss.
I have been wanting to respond to your farewell thread for a while now Thunder and i figure this is as good a time as any.
Let me just say to start that i have lead and i have been lead. and i am old. but not at heart. You sir are a natural born leader. probably
the best i have ever seen when it comes to reading the plays before they happen. I was amazed to see your compassion when it came
down to squad defense. And your attention to detail on the most important factor of warfare the exit strategy. I always enjoyed knowing
that i was a part of the the famous 91st. and that no matter how hair brained the mission success was never in question. our return was
already foreseen and that after i got my hand pried off my joystick you were the reason i had high blood pressure. And that was the one
thing in my week that let me know i still had fun in this thing we all call life. I will truly miss you brother more than you will know. I wish
we could do it all again i wouldn't change a thing. So cheers my friend until we meet again. TT and The rest of us ragged ones will keep a
box of strawberry hill vintage 2011 a damn fine year in the seller for you thundr ~~S~~ sir. RD forever
Your Friend Jeff aka TRIPOD Ohh by the way don't worry about your adversaries we will take good care
of them with precession accuracy.he he he :devil
