i recently read anothers post on strats and a better system, some great ideas.  i would like to see a railway system and railway yards as part of the supply system from the strats that all could be attacked,also bridges that could be blown by both sides(friend or foe) ans supply ship convoys to islands,  more to attack,nore to defend,and all having a specific supply function for an area...not all the bases...example railyard A supplies 25% of bases...you have 4 of them,destroying or damaging 1 effects only the bases in its area........same for convoys and add supply depot for trucks.    fuel,ammo(bullets),ords,parts would all be affected by a scale of 20%.......example based on damage in that area you may only be able to get 60% fuel 20% ords but 100% ammo........the supply should also affect rearm pad as well.  it may take 45 sec or 1 min to rearm etc based on supply and damage % to base.  just a thought for all those who like to blow stuff up and want more realism.

That sounds practically how strats are supposed to work right now.

Have you ever seen the truck convoys that you can destroy on the roads?

No trucks getting to a base = no resupply.

ya if ya take down hq it gets normally resuplied by trains in 2 hours i belive but if u keep destoryring trains it doesnt get resuplied and stays down for long time
and also bases with ack for anyhting down have normal time for resuply and if u destroy it stays down for longer peroids

I'm not a strat player, but I'm pretty sure if you take down the city first, then take down a strat, the strat will stay down longer than normal which means that type of field object takes longer to resupply. That, and what shermanjr said about trains; kill the trains and strats take longer to resupply - kill truck convoys and field objects take longer to resupply.

The real problem I see is that all this is almost pointless; when you have large hordes descending on a base and capturing it in minutes...there seems no point to fiddling with strats and convoys.

oh ya take city down to 50% hq and all strats stay down doulble time

The trains always make it to base.

I have countless films of them respawning further down the tracks after being shot, coming in one right behind the other, and the train sound showing up at strats even after you blow up all the cars with buildings coming back up when the sound of the invisible train stops within the strats.

really never had that happ i rmeber spwnin to hq and taking it down with a bunch of buddies and driving down tracks and taking train down and the hq didnt get resuplies tilll long after i stopped killin trains

actaully if you bomb a HQ without taking out the trian/city its resupped in a matter of minutes about 20 or 30 i think but i think what he is sugjesting is to destroy the depots in where they reload to bring supplies(kind of like a supply convoy hangar) instead of shooting the inbound resupp vehicles

railyards espcially make the most sense..big...not very defended and critical
