I'm flying to Wings over Houston and FiFi is going to be there I think. I'm definitely going to offer an hour in the skyhawk in exchange for just 30 minutes at the helm of FiFi.

Its an offer they cant refuse.

But they can, can't they? Tupac, do you have your multi-engine license yet?

Nope. I dont expect them to say yes, either.

It's something I do whenever one of the WW2 planes comes to town.

Ok, some more... It was awesome  to see, touch, and hear history, which is wrapped up in this type of plane.
I was able to tour the inside and was able to get the pics you see. I hope you enjoy them as I have.

Thanks for the pics! <S>

Is there a pic with you in it, too?

I hope this plane might some day make it out near Seattle.  I'd love to see it.

Right! I still have some stuff that says Confederate, not this commemorative crap. It's funny how we will embrass some parts of our history and completely do away with what people don't consider P.C., makes me sick! 

I remember making modest contributions, from my modest pay, back when I was in USAF to the "then" Confederate Air Force. FiFi was a major draw and I remember a lot of fellow airmen pitching in the sheckles they could to keep these birds flying. If I had to pick one WW2 bird I'd like to fly in most it would be FiFi. To me she has been the Lady who has steered me towards my love of WW2 era flight.

About forty years ago, roughly 1971-72 when I was a young NCO stationed at Kelly AFB in San Antonio I had the pleasure of seeing a Confederate Air Force air show at an old airfield some where NE of San Antonio, having been a fan of the old war birds since I was a child it was a dream come true to actually see them in the air and later up close on display, but the most amazing feat that day was the performance and skill of the pilot flying the B-17. As he rolled out on landing the pilot upon nearing a full stop began to apply the brakes while applying power to the aircraft and balanced the B-17 on its main gear with a slight tail high attitude and held it at a full stop balanced on its mains for nearly 30 seconds, to this day that remains one of the most impressive air show maneuvers I can remember.,
And yes in those days it was "The Confederate Air force"
