Aug 13th the English Premier league starts  :rock.   Go Newcastle United!!!   Ps even though the ownere are flat out dumb.    For those that are interested join the EPL fantasy league/leagues on premierleague.com

When you say "proper football" do you mean American football? Or that sissy sport where grass fairies kick a ball around a field?

Since we have to play in the championship these days our season kicks off a whole week earlier!

Good for all of you "football" fans,and I hope you enjoy your season.I prefer the American version,but I can watch "soccer" for a little bitbut the game goes to slow for me.I don't like ice hockey for the same reason.I really enjoy "Aussie football",as it has a lot of action,and I understand the scoring.I could watch Cricket all day and I wouldn't have any idea what the score was.It completely baffles me.Now let me get back to my American football!!!

What we Americans call soccer is a hardcore sport. Its also fun to watch. Moreso than a 4 hour American football game. :rock :salute

Dont get me wrong i love american football, its just that u watch commercials with bits of gameplay in between, now as for soccer, no commercials except at half time.  If those who think it is a sissy sport search (spelling) kieron dyers injury about 3 yrs back or in 2008 as well, chelseas goalkeepers getting KO'd in the same game, one left with a fractured skull.
