Title: WW2 Tours
Post by: ABDCWOT on July 28, 2011, 01:53:52 PM
Can anyone recommend or know of a good WW2 tour agency. I've looked around online and have seen a few. Has anyone taken one? I'm torn between a tour since it's more stress free but also like the freedom to find my own way (and get lost) but can see more "out of the way" places. I'm thinking England, France, Belgium & Germany in particular but whichever.

If you're a student, take a look at this: http://www.efcollegestudytours.com/educational-tours/tour-detail.aspx?code=HWXA&year=2012

I'm going on this tour in May of 2012 with a local college. Can't wait, been waiting for an opportunity like this for a long time.

Ran into an elderly lady at a restaurant last night. As it turned out, she was from Cologne, Germany and was about 4-5 years old when the war was going on. She could remember huddling in the cellar or bomb shelters at night during allied raids. After the war, she came to the US with her husband who was a soldier stationed in Germany during the occupation. I told her I would be going on this trip and she wrote down about 10 German phrases that could be useful for me to know over there. She was so proud to help and I really appreciated it.

I wish I were a student (only 20 years ago)...haha. Thanks, maybe they'll work something out with my old college. Thanks!
