How do you aim them? Please help!
-
I will have to head to the training arena and practice, Haven't used the rockets in a very long time.
-
They fly in the direction you're facing. Moving forward shortens the range while moving backward lengthens it. Speed forward or back adjusts range.
I like to use them moving forward as short range ord. You'll have to get pretty close if near full speed but be careful not to get so close you blow yourself up.
Don't forget to bring supplies. You can resupply your own rockets. A fully loaded Sdk with supplies can devestate pretty much any ground installation between it's rockets and machine guns.

There used to be a way of ranging them, by using the front antenaa as a guide. There was a post I believe in this section a long time ago on it. Unfortunately that's about all the info I can remember at this point.

Aye as big rat said ...I used to use the antenna...the point where it steps in is what I used ....from there you just need to find your range...( i did this whilst stationary) you would be a little beyond ack range with the 45° set up to get hangers....been a long time since I used it though and didn't use it much but did spend a heap of time trying to work those damned things out....oh yes and this is from default view i.e if you have changed and saved a different head position you will have to hit the home key.....good luck with them....I can't remember who but there were some guys who got pretty good with them and used to take out other GV's...this just got me killed when I tried hahhaaha
doh ...put your target on the point stated above

What I found is with the 23 degree rockets, you can stop fully and use the middle white line on the antenna to aim your rockets. However on the 45 degree line please dont even ask I have not a clue how they are aimed, I could find no way to aim or adjust my aim to any targets at range.

If I remember right I think Moot did a lot of experimenting with the rockets when the SDK was first introduced, if the search function is working you can try finding some of his old threads.
*edit*
never mind doesn't appear that search is currently working.
-
Search is disabled per Skuzzy because it needs fixing and it's going to take a lot of work. Maybe google search for it, and see if Google turns up the thread in question?
-
Looks like someone transcribed most of the info to the wiki.

Put this into your google search box site:http://bbs.hitechcreations.com sdkf (http://site:http://bbs.hitechcreations.com sdkf)

The halftrack rockets are aimed by the red and white pole in front of the driver. You have two angles to choose from. I think ranges of 1200 and 2400 or something like that.
1. Go offline and pull up the halftrack on an airfeild where the north end of a runway is at the waters edge and drive out to it or the end of the runway next to the water. Park facing due north.
2. Pull up the offline target (.target xxxx) at either 1200 or 2400.
3. Line the center of the pole on the center of the target and fire away watching on full zoom. Adjust the target distance until you are placing rounds on the target.
4. Jot down what range just hits target at the centerline and where on the red and white pole it lined up with the target.
