sup guys, as a lot of you know I moved out west and then moved back here, well on the move back I lost all my paints, paintbrushes, and my pen tablet :furious
so I haven't been able to do any artwork, in quite a while, was feeling a bit out of touch with my art, so I said screw it and went and got a new tablet....man how I missed it.
this is what I have been doing lately, hell its actually keeping me from flying.....this is my first finished piece(not quite finished just a couple of things gotta clean up), feels good to actually do art again.
and now that I got the pen tab, skinning will be a whole new world, a mouse just cant duplicate what a pressure sensitive pen can :x

Thank ya
I got the Bamboo pen and touch, its pretty cool, was $100 at best buy, it has multi touch, up to four points, but I am not using the touch feature.

its actually pretty crazy when you use GIMP, the sensitivity of the pen tip is insane, then all the settings inside GIMP makes it :O still figuring out all the different things that can be done with it.
if you use GIMP there is a add on called GPS (GIMP paint studio) awesome add on, almost a must have for GIMP users.

this is gonna be a stupid question ink, but how exactly does that work?
i have been thinking about something like this, because i like to design aircraft liveries for FS. Most of the time, i design them by hand on aircraft side views and then redo them on the computer in paint.net (because i couldnt figure out photoshop or gimp's curve tool). But it would be really easy for me to do them by hand on the computer if that is how it actually works.

its like a paintbrush...airbrush....penc il.....pen....pastel....all rolled into one.
the tip is pressure sensitive, the harder you press the heaver the line, but it goes way beyond that, there are "brushes" that you can download, that will give you "oil's" or different type of pencils also different tips for the paint brush, just like choosing a different paint brush, for different effects, then you can set the "tool" whether it be the airbrush or paint brush, settings it self, the pressure, the consistency, ECT
you can go so far as change the type of "paper" to give it a different look.
but all this is truly just scratching the surface.
down load GIMP, and then GPS for GIMP, GPS is a crap load of new brushes that are pre-set up, plus with GPS you get a new "paint brush" called a "mixing brush" that literally mixes the paint like true "oil" paint, for instance if you take any type of paint that are two complementary colors IE..reg-green...blue-orange....purple-yellow and mix them together 50/50 you will always get a brown, three different browns, this is how I mix my colors for flesh tones when I paint or Tattoo, well the tablet does exactly that with GPS installed, its really crazy and well worth the down load if you do ANY type of artwork on the computer. :aok
