does it take to kill INK?
Sadly, at least last night, the answer was - about 8. Every time I see that guy in the ki-84 he's flying it a little better than before. I got an assist but basically, it was a 1:8 battle. He was maneuvering vertically something like the whole time.
Some mentally-challenged person was exhibiting ignorance of the damage model by after the fact whining that whoever got the kill stole it. Say I, everybody who got a piece of that is a little silly to whine at all, given the odds.
Also say I, grudging kudos to INK, for flying like a seriously bad-aced menace. I've seen him something like 3 times now in my G-14 and he's always flying into bad odds and fighting like a demon. Stuff like that makes the game kewl and it also apparently makes great pilots.

plenty of folks here talk about always diving into a 1v8 on their own, but INK is the only one ive seen doing it regularly. its always great to watch :aok

It was one for the highlight reel. It went on for several minutes. Somebody finally got his tail feathers. Even then, I maneuvered to get out of his path.

INK is a great pilot, I come across ki-84s all the time in my FM-2, usually I outclass them with my superior turn rate, but when I come across him, I'm dead very quickly. He's also been a great help in helping me get into skinning.
:salute
Btw this will probably be moved to general discussion

Funny... I figured it to be O'Club material.

Piloting skills aside and I'm really glad he's flying again he's one of the people that truly make this game worth playing.

<S> INK
I remember my last fight with INK...me in the 205 him is his KI84. I was at an advantage in several ways entering the fight. I had alt and, knew who was in the KI (most important IMHO). I flew very cautiously, kept my nose up and used my e that I had. Felt very fortunate to RTB from that fight...and no I didn't shoot INK down. Was worth the subscription price for that month.

Yo lo comprendo... The blood can run hot when the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat are on the line. As long as I'm ankle-humping, I need to put in a good word for lambo. We had the kewlest 1v1 the other night, he in his la-7, me in the trusted g-14. I kept reeling him in in the flat by means of flap and got several shots in but failed to bring him down. He finally got the better of it - and I wish I'd filmed it becauce I'm still not entirely sure how he managed to get a crosssing shot over top of me. He gave the salute. I felt obliged to reciprocate because it was that rarest of rarities; an "authentic" 1v1 that featured some good flying. I am unsure of exactly how it went down - only that he was pulling a sort of lag roll to try to counter his disadvantage in the flat. I was closing for a rising lead when he flipped over and came back down at me. USUALLY, I expect the ho and run from LaLa land.
That's all I know of that pilot but I'm hoping to see him again out there.
I'm still trying to recal if the La can out-turn the g-14 at corner. Safe to say, though, I think he was over corner during much of the fight -and I certainly misjudged his e-state when he reversed vertically there. I was pulling up, probably below corner, and turning left, per the 109's favor, trying to lead what looked like his sort of high turn left, then pitchback and bam! I'm not entirely sure, though.

thats why I have Auto film on.
like you said most LA's just HO and run, so when you get one that actually fights it takes you by suprise :O
and its one of the best turners in game :aok

Best sustained turn rate for the 2 is within a hair: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,275682.msg3476675.html#msg3476675
Of course, this would occur at their respective corner speeds - which doubtless differ, and most likely with flaps popped (not sure about the La-La but certianly in the case of the 109). Pulled the flap's on Matelot's 205 one night - reeled him in like a fish. I don't think he popped his but who knows.

Matelot is a squaddy. I dont know if he'd like this known but he is in his 80s. Hes also quite an athlete still. Real nice soft spoken guy.

He was/is a good fight. I've both killed and been killed by him. I was proud of that battle against his 205. He's typically also stand-up opponent. I should add, I think that was the first time I really saw the impact of using the 109's flaps.
In his 80's? He flies like a much younger man. It's good that he's still into kewl things like AH. May we all be like that. I'm looking forward to having enough time that I can spend ridiculous amounts of time in the arenas but who knows how I'll feel then (or the state of the arenas)?
