I cant find any info on it since 2009... any updates on it's situation or if it will be finished? :(

Last I heard they were in some legal troubles with Harmony Gold USA, which owns the image and digital rights to the Macross and Robotech franchise in the US. Some of the pivotal 'Mechs in the Battletech universe are based on mechs from a couple of Japanese anime series and the devs were sued after they released the teaser trailer back in '09. Before FASA went under, they had purchased the rights from the original creators of those anime series but Harmony Gold USA claims ownership and rights in the US. On top of that, there is question as to whether or not Harmony Gold USA even has the rights to the images of these mechs and that has to be settled first before the lawsuit with the MechWarrior 5 devs gets settled.
ack-ack

Per the Japanese, Harmony Gold does not hold those rights, but they've been told that before and it has never stopped them from suing again the next time it came up. They are very close to being copyright trolls.

Figures that a bunch of lawyers mucked it up. I was really excited about that trailer when it was released.
When I was in college, we regularly road tripped up to Chicago to visit the BattleTech Center there. That awesome fun!
