LOL bears and glory don't belong in the same sentence, with the exception of 1985. many teams look back on glory years, da bears look back on *A* glory year. :lol and us Packer fans get new glory years all the time :aok

Have a look at this heartwarming story of NFL players mentoring troubled Detroit Lions players.

I remember hearing a story on NPR about a group of national guardspeople from Wisconsin a few years ago. They were tasked with guarding a prison for insurgents and suspected insurgents and every inmate in the prison knew at least 2 english words.
Favre and Shenanigans
And as far as Dick Butkus goes: #1 most feared tackler of all time.

Even Jerry Springer knows this.

Didn't Butkus kill a guy?

Or did he just kill the Packers line everytime they met?
Much like Singletary, Payton, Urlacher, Dent, Hampton, the list goes on and on..... :rock

Didn't Butkus kill a guy?
No, that was all blown out of proportion. He just ate a guy.
-
Its takes a truly special team to have the leagues 30'th worst ofense and still make it to within one play of winning the NFC.

Since we're talking about midwestern NFL teams, and I'm from Iowa I'll pose this riddle.
Why doesn't Iowa have any Professional Teams?

Because you have your caucus first?

I thing its Detroits Curling team :bolt:
My grandfather was a detroit curler who died at an event.
I kick bellybutton at shuffleboard.
Coincidence?
-
Because if Iowa had pro teams, Minnesota would feel obligated to get some too.

Only Da Bears could spend a fortune on a Q-back, then staff the O-line with a bunch of Bozos who almost got him killed last year. Then fate being fate they still made it to one play away from a trip to the SB. Despite having an offensive 30'th overall in the NFL. They gave up 56 sacks last year. :huh
Fast forward one year later. They dump their ex-pro bowl center hire an unremarkable one from Seattle, then say a guard who hasnt taken a snap since '03 is going to start the season at center, and then rely on a O-line with 3 members were none or very little NFL experience. I bet Cutler doesnt make it four games before getting crushed like a bug. On the plus side they finnaly hired a WR who actualy as one instead of hireing conerbacks on the cheap and "wishing" them into being recievers.
There is no team cheaper then the Bears when it comes to offense.

A lions player died in a game. He had been hit by Butkus during that game, but I don't believe the two are linked.
But what about the Ditka Dicta? As far as I can see, there are about 4:
1. sausage
2. scratch the package
3. straight back
4. fade shades for "the look"

No that player had a heart attack. Butkus leaning over him and motioning for aid to get out there is what started the rumor that Butkus killed him.

AFAIK, you are correct. It was Chuck Hughes of the Lions who died. I was but a kid watching the game. The story has it that Butkus hit him but it turns out Butkus was actually trying to summon help for him.

You could've stopped with "there is no team cheaper than the Bears." Yes, that O-line sucked, but it's the McCaskey's who won't properly staff the Bears. Asking anyone the quarterback that offense is like asking someone to be the PM of South Vietnam. Sadly, I remain a fan.

I don't care what people say about Jay Cutler, the guys is bad-arse.
He spent more time on his back than a 2 dollar hooker, yet continued to get back up and do stuff like this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRMfMPNQffE
If the Bears O-line could give him some time, they would be unstoppable.

To my mind, the real chuckle is on Denver. Yeah, the bears let Jay down. But, cast your mind back: Johnny Knox and JC for Kyle Orton and some krapola dp's? Then, the mentally-deficient ORton goes out and puts a string of w's on the board. All the while, I was saying, just wait. That guy will go right back to playing in his own diaper. Sure enough... How'd that one work out, Denver?
Otherwise, typical Bears... If the Walsh strategy starts at the defensive secondary and the Madden strategy starts at the o-line, where does the Bears strategy of solid linebacking/running backs and a speedy flanker fit? It fits in the also-ran category, generally.
