the wire management is God awful ugly... but my PSU isnt modular. one thing im not digging about my machine.  :cry

http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,317738.30.html the link to whats in it.

and when putting the back plate for my mobo on i pinched a wire for my rear exhaust fan... despite all efforts i got it unpinched, but severed one the 3 wires for it. i could  have taken everything out, to remove it, but i wasnt gonna take all the screws out, and put them back in if it could be avoided. only other complaint outside of my non-modular PSU.

Doesn't look too bad but you will get antsy and wanna do some cleaning up and you will take your time and do it. Other than that how do you like the case??

yea, the one with the wires is upside down, where the wires are is the bottom. the mobo shot is perpindicular to the alignment of it.

i already have gotten antsy...but havent got the money for a modular PSU and no where to put my spare wires. I like the case, aside from being more then a monster in reality, itll give me ample room in the future to do as i feel. space wont be an issue when i upgrade or convert to intel...which i may do if i ever get the money.

you dont need a modular if that ps works good.  just shove all the extra wires into one of the hd bays, or behind the case, use zip ties, like the ones from lawn trash bags.  just make a nice little bundle.  also only allow just enough ps cable to reach tot he component, dont let it hang, hide the rest behind the back panel, again use zip tries :).  i also use electrical tape to hold some cords in place of course behind the panel too.  it's gonna take you several times to get the wires hidden, but remember this.  you will never do it as good as TD  :D.

but i wanna do as good as the man does  :D

entered a sweepstakes on Newegg for 3 moniters, a 6970 video card, a gaming mouse, gaming keyboard, and a $500 giftcard. IF i should win im finishing my build. modular PSU, getting my rear fan fixed and possibly a mobo with a 6gb/s sata cable. depending what i have left over i may shop around for some more RAM... not that i "need" any of it... but ill have the money right there so i may as well  :lol

Some updated pics. Got antsy after seeing what lawndart did with his paint, couldn't resist. Not quite the blue I wanted, but once I shoot on 2 or 3 coats of clear coat and wax her, I think it'll look beautiful. Keeping all the trim black so as not not make it all one solid color. Color is Chrysler metallic blue.

Yea... doing little things to set my machine apart makes me obsessed... right.  :rofl

No, putting hardware that powerful in your computer makes you obsessed.

I do have a technical question though, how much power does your computer draw when you are running full power?

possibly a mobo with a 6gb/s sata cable.

MasonZ,

you can get a "Rosewill RC-227 PCI-Express 2.0 SATA III (6.0Gb/s) Controller Card"  from newegg and use it on your current MB....and you'll be able to install (2) SATA III 6.0 Gb/s  HD's or SSD's

newegg link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816132032

you do not neccesarily have to by the Rosewill Brand..... newegg has several different manufacturers

you can also purchase  USB 3.0 controller cards.....

looks like you have (1) PCIe x1  slot open  and  (1) PCI slot   open........  so you can convert that PCI slot to PCIe  if you want to, and have an additional PCIe ( x4 or x8 ) slot available

if you are happy with the rest of your system, no need in buying a new MMB just to get SATA III  or USB 3.0

hope this helps

TC

I have no reason to ever draw full power. Ah is extremes as it gets, and with factory settings I can run all the eye candy with minimal frame hits. Curious to see how it would run bc3 though....

Some more updated pics. Haven't made an progress on the paint, just sanding and recoating as needed, but I did get antsy today to do something more. I wasn't sure if I was going to paint the inside too, or just my panels. Decided to leave the inside black, and work on my cables for a good 2 hours at least. This is what I have for organization:

Still not the prettiest sight... but better then before if I can get my panel on....

that looks nice.  I decided to not use electrical tape to hold mine ( :rofl) as I had done before, so i used twisty ties and zip ties.

I see you have outgrown your cowboy sheets  :D.  are those made out of cotton or synthetic fibers?  cause they also produce static electricity.  never put your puter over any kind of fabric or walk around bare footed on carpet and work on it.  there's always a chance you might ruin something.

just noticed on my puter my fan controller is upside down  :rofl.  I'll leave it like that until i get the two new fans and another light for inside the case.  I cant let lawndart have a prettier puter than me   :uhoh.

my sheets are cotton  :aok. Every time I went my outer I was sharking my pants hoping I didn't have static electricity. It was either my bed or my hard wood floor. Didn't feel like scratching the paint, and I figured if it fell a mattress with sheets are softer then hickory.

My handsomehunk forgot primer before I sprayed, so im back to square one on the paint. :bhead Doing 2 or 3 coats of blue and then 2 or 3 coats of clear coat.

Congrats on the fan controller malfunction btw :lol

Aww semp thanks, BTW Masonz doesn't it feel better knowing you took the time to use better control on wire management?

No, I meant how many watts is your power supply?

850... its more then I need, but room to upgrade in the future.

If you read the thread about what I have you wohldnt have had to ask how many watts.  :aok

Been a few days here, and after starting over from scratch (almost) im getting down to the final coats. I plan on putting on at least onw more coat of blue, I have 3 on now. I plan on doing 3 or 4 coats of clear coat then putting on some wax to make it smooth and shine real nice.

The panels are snapped and screwed into place, and obviously im missing the fans and grills, but I like the blue. Think the blue with black trim and grills will look real nice.

I'll give you this, I like your computer because it is something that I would do.  Excessively complicated and absurdly redundant.

I was raised, why do something if hour gonna do it half-assed. I have room to upgrade in the future, and its set apart from most (if not) every other phantom you see

Belkin with the side mounted switch FTW!

possibly getting a first gen i7 and a mobo for it for mid 3's  :O... CPU and mobo still in box. teacher i have at school that has it paid 99 for it cause he works at best buy and they all got em for 75% off after doing an intel class or something...  throw in 8 gigs of RAM for a couple extra bucks, ill be happier then a pig in waste.
