Title: American Civil War
Post by: RichardDarkwood on August 14, 2011, 05:22:10 PM
Calling all volunteers

One hundred and fifty years ago our relatives fought one another all over this country. There is a group forming that attend re-enactments through out the country from large events such as Gettysburg, Sharpsburg down to the local small events. Participating in school events in at the top of our list. This is a family oriented group of people who enjoy preserving history to the public. We are an Infantry unit that has several people portraying historical figure.

If your interested PM me on here or go to our temp website to leave a message.

Thanks, Todd.  I am already with a group in Kanasa.  We planning on Gettysburg, Sharpsburg, Wilson creek, Pea Ridge (if they do it), and a few in kansas.

My friend that portrays Gen.Heth lives in Boston.

All of the sutlers that supply the general public with uniforms and arms get the stuff from makers in Pakistan. I have a direct link to one of the better clothing makers & leather, drum, etc. These prices are shipping included and I have a kepi from them and it's of the highest quality. These are straight up the prices. The cheaper it is, the easy it is for someone to come out and be in the show. It is a awesome thing to be a part of a 10,000 rifle volley, and manuvering that many people around on a field. I have recruited one of the best and most seasoned infantry first seargents in the US re-enacting community. I've seen this guy at school days have 250 teenagers manuvering in rank & file better than veteran re-enactors. So you'll get a 1st class instruction in infantry tactics of 1859. And you might get cussed at like a mule but it is all in good fun. Good times are to be had.

Example
WOOL UNIFORM:-
SMEB-1208 – Double Breasted Union officer Shell Jacket @ Price $36.00 per piece including shipping
SMEB-1209 – Double Breasted Union officer Frock Coat @ Price $48.00 per piece including shipping
SMEB-1259 – Brogan brown @ Price $43.00 per pair including shipping
SSMEB-1344 – Wooden Canteen @ Price $22.00 per piece including shipping
MEB-1260 – Cavalry Boots @ Price $65.00 per pair including shipping

The group I am forming portrays both sides. There aren't many yankee's as you think in Raymond,Mississippi and we need men willing to fall down for the cause.

I have been doing this hobbie since 97 and one thing always remains true.....yankee's don't take hits!
They don't wanna get thier purty blue uniform dirty.

To be surprise, they're many re-actors that will take it to physical fights on and off the battlefields. Some people just cannot let it go.

MA, CT, NY corner in MA.

No battles up there, you may know that already.  Hangover and Gettysburg would be the closes to you.  Go here, you may find groups in your area.

That would demonstrate an appalling lack of brains and maturity.

Get yourself a subscription to the Camp chase gazzette. It is a publication just for re-enactors and has every battle in the country posted in it monthly.
