As I was deadstick and trying to land between two outbuildings, hoping to clip a wing and stop on pavement, i actually landed between them, and at 100mph clipped my starboard wingtip on the hangar door just past. The colision spun me around and ripped off the port wing, i was wheels down and rolling backwards at 50mph...
I was able to make a long slow u-turn steering with rudder to end up on the road, almost on the concrete of the buildings opposite of where i landed. :joystick:
no bug, just a funny series of events. i didn't expect it to have that much momentum to do what it did (also thought the gears were gone, but nope - i was rolling, backwards... minus both wingtips) i didn't think to f3 while it was occurring.
I'd post the film but it's 17 mins and 5.4mb (all the encounters with you and oldman.)

crop the film to the landing ya pesky h4xx0r
-
does it have to be done in avi format? didn't think you could just chop the raw .ahf?
-
yeah no need to rub my nose in the kills! :D i cant wait to see it, sounds interesting.
-
ahhh you can chop raw film and save certain segments. Will post it in a bit, just the landing part :aok
thanks for that tidbit - as much as i film, I've never gotten into the editing part.

Here it is... much shorter 1:40 :aok

you're a damn cheater! hehehe that was awesome! one of the coolest things ive seen in awhile! im surprised you didnt use brakes sooner or more once you got on the pavement.
-
bear in mind I thought I had no gear and was sliding on ground (hence the "bug")
once I realized I could control it, I didn't want to touch the brakes (or keyboard) for fear of stopping before I got to where I wanted... on pavement.
I wanted to clip one of those first two buildings to see if it'd spin and stop me there as it did once before (may have had gear down tho' - and in any case it flipped me upside down, right into the hangar just beyond.)
:joystick: :neener:

thats most definitely a controlled crash!

A new twist on "Jeep Wars."
Wonder if we could field a battalion of these?
- oldman (fun fights, btw, and congrats on all of them)

oh, before I forget (easier these days) last night when i said not be shy about using the vert in the FW, you replied (I got busy with Jaeg) something to the effect that the climb rates are marginally difference.
They're not... the FW climbrate outstrips the jug at low alt despite a lower top end speed on the deck, and it has much better acceleration. So, in those rolling scissors, you really only needed to keep going up slightly more, and a jug would eventually wallow out.

Nah, I have to find the film, but I've got one of those where I'm upside down going backwards. Went off the runway and kept going til I hit a flak battery.

ppffft, I've done that a hundred times Shane.
