I mean really? From a human standpoint should people really be rewarded for spending 6+ hours a day playing a game? This is what led South Korea to adopt an internet addiction scheme. It's just a bit sad really...

Ranks shows one thing: that they know how to pick, camp, milk run, and deliver troops when the odds are over-whelming in their favor.
If skill were the real determining factor the best scores would not be made with best of the best aircraft and tanks. The best players in the game are not in the top 100 in anything, they don't care and they do not have to fabricate a value to measure their ability.

Bruv can actually handle himself very well in a lot of situations other than score. Such as his last Koth.

TBH the best players don't give a shoot where they are rank wise, because the best players are the ones that are fun to fly and do stupid stuff with. You have to have a fairly small fire hose to care what number you get each month in a cartoon plane game... OH wait, suddenly the rank charts make sense :lol

Last I heard the few were accused of 'fiddling' with koth results. I wasn't there so I won't say more. Still, being the 'best' at a computer game doesn't mean you're fun to fly with or even that you do anything to help the game, not to name names...

well i reckon the score keep people in check..you may shoot and down many planes... and you'll be all egoistic thinking you DA MAN!...but then you realize the next day, that your score has only improved just a small bit...which proves there are many others out there who are performing better than you, killing more than you... it would be a humbling experience..and would spur you on to get better all the time and basically get you thinking on how to better yourself... take that score and rank away.... its just a monotonous game play with nothing to prove your skills that you have acquired about the years...thats just me and my thoughts tho.. :D...

Well, like I say, I wasn't there, although I've seen incriminating videos. Using your squad's unmonitorable teamspeak BS to co-ordinate a KOTH match is not only against the spirit of the game but also shows a serious lack of character and sense of honour in your squad. I'd write a message to bruv telling him to sort it out but I think it would fall on deaf ears, seeing as he's one of the worst culprits. Plus, the Few DFC?! WTF is that about?!? It's like the last kid in the playground didn't get picked to play a game so decided to make a shizzy version of their own. You know what we called that at school? Ghey...

I like the idea of showing stats, but awarding a number for it is pretty stupid. dont post the highest fighter K/D at the end of a tour, if soemone wants to know they can investigate for themself. I could care less about what "numbered rank" i am in a field, but its fun to challenge myself to improve my fighter K/D, or my attack and bombing bomb percentage (the few times i do em.). likewise for my GV's. +1
shouldnt this be in the wishlist, it is sort of a wish...

Horrible PTSD! There I was being rubbed against for 5 minutes, waiting in fear for some sort of insertion. I breathed a sigh of relief when I realised that the few's collective equipment wasn't enough to reach my crevasse.

Rank (in the unofficial sense) is the ability to lead...and the natural outcome is that others will follow...willingly
Score is an abstract...
Some of the worst SCORING pilots are the best LEADERS....and thus they have RANK
Some of the best SCORING pilots are the worst LEADERS....and thus they have NO RANK
Most people know who the LEADERS are...and will follow them...and don't give a rats twiddle about SCORE in making that decision

I think I speak for my whole squad when I say we have never claimed to be the best ever and don't really want to be. We just enjoy flying and messing around with each other. I do however disagree with the way the few conduct themselves in special events and other circumstances (let us not mention the duelling bracket thread). They are bad news.

I personally have seen many other squads get to the ability The Few has now...but they did it with one wing, BKs back in the day could ruin furballs just because people were tired of getting killed....Seen Pawz and Lazer take on entire hordes in P38s...Your not the best that has ever been and Im sure better will come.(Pawz did it without talking smack on the bbs)

It was never about 'who's the best stick?'. We are slowly but surely teaching people what it means to be a fun, engaging and popular member of this wonderful community. I do apologise for you, in that your hopes of being that sort of member have been crushed by the tuition of your super uber elite skwad...

In all seriousness although I do like the 71st and I would consider Bat a friend, I have to say its pointless trying to make out your squad is any different to any other in the game or point out others flaws.
Most in 71st fly around in hoing ganging, setting up bases to vulch for score etc. I have personally been ganged by 5+ of your squad finishing with a good old HO this happens frequently enough for me to consider it a prefared style of gameplay within your squad, so why come on here and denouce another squad for things your own squad does? :headscratch:

biggles also made some disparaging remarks about some stuff that I would like to clarify,
Steffk, Buffer and pooface (biggles) did help answer several of my noobish questions when I first came to AH, I never asked to join their squadron and vice versa. There was one day when Some of the 71st guys were on the ground in GV's attempting to capture a base when a long standing member asked for a spitfire V sweep. He was very displeased when he was told that they were capturing a base. This must have caused some sort of internal strife that we weren't aware of and we must have been identified as the root of the problem. My memory is a little hazy but I think we thought that we had better leave them to it and swap out of knightland.
Since then the only times we have butt heads is over British recruits and Kazaa's virtuoso flying displays. I'm sure Bat would love to add to that summary but I do get tired of a one way dialogue that always puts us in a bad light when all we have done is built a squad that apparently tries too hard. We laugh and joke just like any other and this portrayal of us being spotty, unemployed nerds with bad teeth really is in your imagination.

3. Affiliating a squad with pedophilia.

If there are any recordings / film / text logs etc... of The Few cheating in KOTH or any event supervised by a AH CM, send them to ROC or directly to HTC. If this happened, I will leave The Few immediately. I would support censure of the squad. Otherwise, I consider this the moral equivalent to anything to do with "skyrock". Prove it or drop it. A little help from the MODs would be nice. I got banned for a week for starting a discussion about a bumper sticker I saw that said "puppy mills are protected by the constitution". Talking puppy mills is not as severe as continuously accusing a squad of cheating, since the TOC.
Anyone who attended KOTH Friday night could see that regardless of who is in the air, some guys are on it , some guys are off. The fact that there are a couple of sticks that can probably win or rabbit in KOTH at will is a fact some of you should absorb. I personally am not one of them, I just receive the taters/hispanos and realize I am nowhere near that level.
