Win 7 64bit Home Premium.
Double click file and it does nothing at all, even with administrator priviledges. I get the "Do you want to run this file?" security warning popup, I click 'RUN" and nothing happens.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Cheese

right click on the "AHHIRES2252.EXE" file then click properties.....and make sure that the "read Only" box is unchecked and also click the unblock button
you will be able to see what that "unblock" button is for

Still no joy TC...
Redownloaded file and have the same symptoms...

Did you try right clicking on the AHHIRES2252.EXE and select "Run as Administrator"? Even if you have administrator privileges, you may have to do this to install.
Had the same problem with a scanner a while back.

Make sure you disable any and all anti-xxx type software first.
Windows 7/Vista UAC is a pain in the butt.

Vista Ultimate 64-bit here...
Disabled UAC long ago and have not had any issues with Aces High updates, patches, or hires texture updates. I get skins, my settings don't get all funky/lost, and the only annoyance is if AH2 takes a dump (like when spawning a custom arena with anything but default config chosen [hint, hint, Skuzzy]) I have to kill my TIR through Task Manager to get it back and running when AH2 is restarted.
Long story short, like Skuzzy said, UAC blows.

Skuzzy is da man....I had to turn off Anti-Vir....Never had to before on any update or HiRez pack. Oh well!
Thanks for all the replies and help, gents. All set now.

Cheese, all consumer type anti-xxx software is pretty stupid. All they do is pattern recognition in a data stream, so if some game data happens to match a pattern, then they really do a number on that application.
This is why it is always best to disable any anti-xxx software before playing Aces High (might be true for any game, but I cannot speak to how other games protect the user from bad things happening).
