Found this site tonight...
Awesome and worthy of a bookmark if your into tying things up...such as terrorists, zombies...or if you need to splice Monel trolling wire to braided Dacron using an Albright Knot
Each knot in all of the categories has an animated gif using oversize cordage in two colors to illustrate the steps in creating the knot
Here is a screen grab of the Fishing Knots category. They have other categories...check the banner at the top of the image

I once used my shoelaces to make the infamous "stirrup knots" for my young lady friend in the back of my car. :devil They were hung off those little coat hooks cars used to have way back when. :old:

World's greatest knot. Will not slip or jam, can be tied with one hand and shaken loose.
The Bowline.

Rabbit comes out of the hole, around the tree, and back down thru the hole again.
When I was in the Coast Guard I could tie one blindfolded behind my back with one hand in 3 seconds flat and I was slow.
Top 4 knots to know:
1. The Bowline
2. Roundturn with 2 Half Hitches
3. Square Knot
4. Carrick Bend

Back when I had my boats and was fishing hard I bought a book on fish knots and rope knots. I was kinda surprised how fascinating it was and how much I got into it. LOL I'd actually bring line and rope in the car with me on midnights and when it was quite I'd practice.

After many years of flyfishing you learn to tye alot of different knots, nailknot and bloodknot are 2 of the staple knots that most flyfishermen use. However as you grow old or the light fades the best knots are always the simple ones that you can tye with your eyes closed! These days I need 3.5x reading glasses just to thread the line through the eye of a fly,I need a telescope to tye a #20 griffonsnat on a 8x leader...... :o
I have a good tip for others with this problem,I stole a needle threader from the wife's sewing kit,I slip the fly onto the threader and fish the line through it's loop and presto! then all you need is a good knot that you can tye with your eyes closed, improved clinch with a double surgeons for safety, afterall I tyed it with my eyes closed........ :devil
