Death penalty anyone?

I just read about this.
I knew the guy back in college from playing basketball at Fontana Hall at USF. This was in 1990-1991. We just knew him as a small time pot dealer then.

I heard this morning on the radio that an anonymous source from the NCAA has stated "This could be the worst thing to ever happen to college football." If half of what this guys says is true then this just might be the tipping point to a few more things. Some have said that when Miami gets the death penalty that the ACC will cease to exist as a conference and this will create the super conference for the SEC by being able to grab FSU, GT and Clemson if not North Carolina and NC State.

Sad, but tradition, academics, and state/local pride doesn't attract my generation of recruits. $ $ $ $ does.

Thats a little overboard with the ACC breaking up, I doubt the ACC will ever break up, too much tradition.
Shapiro said he gave money, cars, yacht trips, jewelry, televisions and other gifts to a list of players including Vince Wilfork, Jon Beason, Antrel Rolle, Devin Hester, Willis McGahee and the late Sean Taylor. Shapiro also claimed he paid for nightclub outings, sex parties, restaurant meals and in one case, an abortion for a woman impregnated by a player. One former Miami player, running back Tyrone Moss, told Yahoo! Sports he accepted $1,000 from Shapiro around the time he was entering college.
oh man, this is going to get ugly

Just when they appeared to be on the upswing too.

Nothing new just the same old same old. I saw things like that happening in Arizona back in the early 80's. College ball players, especially basketball and football, driving around in nice new expensive shiny cars that belonged to them and no employment other than school and playing ball. Had some classes with some of the jocks who rarely went to classes including finals yet passed with good grades. Some of the football players had trouble articulating multisyllabic words. :huh

I know it happened even at my crappy school as I "mowed" a yard the size of a small bathroom for one of the school boosters each month. I shared the yard work with 3 other players.
However it's not that far fetched that the ACC might fold up due to TV contracts being voided and monies having to be paid back. Tradition means nothing in this time of college football. It's all about the dollar.

Pish Posh what Ohio State and USC did. This crap is the mother load. Dam to bad for Miami, they where starting to get good again.
