Title: VMF-312 Checkerboards

VMF-312 Checkerboards is forming.

All positions available.

This will be a MARINE squadron flying  US naval aircraft.

Plans for a website are underway. I would like this  virtual squadron to uphold the honor of it's namesake.  Looking for mature pilots who love history and naval aviation and treat others with respect.
Regular squad nights in the MA as well as FSO's and special events will be a priority.

If you think you have what it takes, you like big blue airplanes with tail hooks, and launching and recovering from a pitching deck sounds like fun to you, see me in the air or pm here.

PS. If there are any talented skinners out there who would want to do up a nice VMF-312 Checkerboards paint scheme...we might need one.

About the CO...

I have been an avid AH player for about 10 years off and on. Although not the highest scoring flier in AH, I do put an emphasis on team work, having fun, and bringing your wingman back home. Having fun is probably the most important. I am also looking for a group who will fly in an historical manner, provide cover to ground troops on request, and escort bombers when needed. Pretty much if it's naval aviation, I'm into it.

Well that's about enough for now. We'll do some more talkin' when we've done some more fightin'

I think there is a checkerboard paint scheme for the F4U1D in game.

yes there is a VMF-312 skin ! I had VMA-332 on my mind and was looking at the wrong types as we are planning a ground search for two of their crashed F4u-4's.

Was fun. Chaotic but fun. Think I popped too early for Jayro's taste. Live and learn.

Think maybe we should have stayed NOE until the other side of the base then popped up behind the defenders.
I ended up making it home with one kill and half a wing.
