Title: making gunsights
Post by: skorpion on August 20, 2011, 03:35:05 PM
ok, im having some trouble making a few of my gunsights. when i save them as the 265 (or whatever it is) bitmap img. it says "saving this might result in loss of colors". how do i keep that from happening? i make my sight in paint, save it then when it comes up in game the entire gunsight screen is white. how can i fix this?

You are making the sight with 36000 colors, or whatever the number is, and saving it as 256 colors so the program will "compromise" and use the closest colors to the 256.

In other paint programs there is usually an option on how to "compromise".

Otherwise it really shouldn't matter. You can try making your sights with only 256 colors so you won't have this issue.

EDIT: problems solved, all is fine now. just a mishap with paint.
