Why do you people pay that much for this game?
I mean sure it rocks even though the grafix are a little odd to me and rarely do I see more then 150 people online.
How about knocking 10$ off the price HTC...its a start.
P.S. Dont bother flaming cause im not listening.
-
If yer not gonna listen to the answers, why ask the question?
-
Because if I didn't pay $30.00 per month I couldn't play in the MA. Thus I pay the producer's set fee.
-
Because I can't make my own game and charge people $70 to play it.

-
Because we are filthy rich!!!

We need to get a pool going on how many posts it will take for someone to say "man.. you guys are too harsh... he's only trying to express his oppinion".

I'll bet it's going to be on the sixth reply.
SOB
man.. you guys are too harsh... he's only trying to express his oppinion

If it were any cheaper, too many dweeb-assed quakehead jerks would play. :)
We need some way to keep out the riff-raff.
hahahahahahah
Dago

I don't pay $30.....I'm Canadian and since we don't have the "uber dollar" I pay just over $46/month. And it is worth every penny!
-
JoeM,
If $30 a month keeps you out then its well worth it!
Jk..hehe

Since when is the best not worth the price.. whatever it is?

Because the staff at HiTech Creations appreciate their customers. They listen to legitimate complaints (I don't mean whines here)and suggestions and act when necessary and appropriate. They have a dedication to their product and their customers, unmatched by any MMPOG todate.
They keep informed of the latest advancements in technologies and software development and incorporate these into their product at a phenomenal rate. Quite frankly, I'm not sure when they find time to sleep.
They give respect when due and are respected in turn. That's why they'll be getting my 30.00 bucks.
-
I don't play any other games at all. Aces High keeps me plenty entertained, and I have yet to get bored with it, plus I've met a bunch of great folks while flying. Why not pay $30 for that?
-
Pays for itself in saved nudie bar expenses.

Price is the Great Discriminator.
Believe it or not, some exclusive golf/fun/yyy//younameit clubs intentionaly put a "ridiculous" prices on their membership. Why? Because they do not want "riff-raff" in their presence.

Hey I'm riff-raff!
No matter what you do scum like me keep seeping through the cracks.

Because it's the best online sim available, at the moment, at any price.
I take this stuff seriously. I've been doing it for years, and I've spent thousands on P.C. upgrades over the years to pursue this hobby. I'm an earning adult, and I can afford it.
Should a superior product come out on the market, I'd fly that, but there's not one yet. The price is pretty irrelevant.
-
Like the old saying says... You only get what you pay for. ACES HIGH is the best flight sim on the market by a good way. It's not just the Great Graphics or the Amazing Flight Engine (niki excluded :D) It's the fact that if I have a problem then it gets fixed. If someone else has a problem then It get's fixed. Hell, if people who don't even pay $30 a month to play the game have a problem then it gets fixed.
HTC have setup a Training Corps to help there new members! A Scenario Corps to keep us Vets Amused and a constant stream of updates to keep us all intrested. Bundle that in with the nice people, well orgonised squads and responsible attitudes of the Seniour members of the comunity and Badabing you have a Winner!
Think about it, you could always go to WW2OL and not play at all? Or Warbirds and get an update every 2 years? Or Air Warrior and get shut down by EASports?
Aces High Rules :) :D :p
-
lol ure all lucky bastages i pay 300kr per month :D
airguard
-
Heh I couldda taken one of them 19.95 offers too.
But that'd be wrong.
Here's the deal: if you think something is worth the price yer paying and you can afford it, you pay for it.
If not, you don't. It really is this simple.

Reasons why I pay my 30/month:
Best internet connection to host I've seen in any online game I've seen.
Servers ISP is closely monitored for best performance (thanks Skuzzy)
Best FM I've experienced yet, on line or boxed.
Fantastic graphics, imho best of any flight sim.
Wide variety of craft to putz around in :D
Constant monitoring by developers of all charachteristics of the game, they actually are available to talk with personally, try that somewhere else.
Actuall updates and upgrades of the product on a regular basis, errors fixed almost immediately with player input.
I'm no cheerleader, just calling it as I see it. I'm getting my monies worth.

-

Thanks Fatty! I was looking for a way to rationally justify my $30/month! ;)
Actually, I cancelled my UO accounts (had 2, so that's $20 per month) and I don't eat out as much as I used to for lunch and dinner. No telling how much that saves per month!! I think I'm actually spending less per month now than I was before I joined AH.
edit: including estimated time in the SEA, i played about 30 hrs tour 17. $1 an hour. can't beat that price of entertainment at a movie, bar, etc.

Because after being dragged into "Moulin Rouge" by my bride and then realizing just how little (none at all?) entertainment $15 worth of theater tickets can buy....
I came to the conclusion that AH is simply an incredible entertainment value!
-
Ouch Toad. :)
I managed to avoid that one (good SA on my part that one day) and so the wife went to see it with her Mom. ;) Said wife also walked out of the theatre after about 25 minutes it was so bad.

p.s HI JOE!! (obligatory attention for Joe in his attention scrounging topic)

I wasn't so lucky! :)
Kept hoping ole Nicole would reveal her true self a bit more... but alas, even that small hope was dashed.
-
Man you guys are getting slow I mean if I woulda pulled this a year ago I would be flamed to hell and back with all kinds of nice words thrown at me.
Btw to all who say this game is the best I dissagree but thats just me....now back to testing and playing for free at that NEW game :p
-
Heck, I'd pay a buck per play rather than $30 a month. Sometimes I can't justify the $360 a year ($560CAD) expense but I just love this sim.
My wife btw, has earned beaucoup leverage for her purchases for my habit. :(
Look honey at the new $200 pair of shoes I bought. It's not as expensive as 'your game' so I thought would treat myself.

Joe, I'm betting you simply couldn't imagine how overjoyed we all are that you are happy.
:D

hehe, yeah... I'm happy for you JoeMud.

Ahh, typical Joemud. A simple repeat of his transition from WB when AH first started beta. I think he gets bored easily.

I'm unable to verify that, as I charge my g/f's creditcard. :D

I disagree. I think that the people in the (free) H2H arenas I've been playing in were actually more well-tempered than those in the MA from my experiences. In other words, I have seen far more problem people in the MA.
I'm not complaining about the MA price, I think it's fair. I'm just trying to straighten out the misconception that if you raise the price it will keep the "scum" out. I do not care for immature people, but I also dislike elitists.
The price is too high for me but I won't complain that it isn't worth it. I am thankful that HTC has given us H2H, and in an easy-to-use format instead of that like WB where you would always have to pre-arrange your meetings.
-
Well said MarkVZ.
Not everybody who prefers HtoH does so because of financial reasons. Myself for example. When I have time to fly I want to fight, not play the strat game, hide 'n seek or chase people. Never have any trouble finding a fight in HtoH. :)
I also believe that for the most part HtoH is much more relaxed and fun because there is no score. Take away scoring and there are fewer ego-related problems.

Maybe not everyone has as much money as you but that sure does not mean they are scum, or they are not as good as people who can afford ma price. Plz keep comments like that to yourself.
