not a p47. not by a long shot, it doesnt have the "jug" shape and the exhaust is one of the hurricane. probably a hurricane because of the style of the cockpit, exhaust and the air intake on the bottom. not sure about the make though. also, forgot to mention this, but the landing gear isnt in the right place and the wings arent the ones found on a p47. the wings on the 47 is flat, as in they dont go up at a small angle about 1 foot from the fuselage.
-
Yes-- it's a Hurri. Model? I want to say Mk. I, but that's probably just me. If I had a better shot of the overall plane, it would be easier.

i would say hurriMK-1 aswell because of the wings and where the guns would go.
-
hmm...now that i look at it more closely, its definately 100% a hurricane. best bet would be a hurriMK-1. the engine block screams hurricane.
-
Come on... where's Krusty or AckAck when you need them. :lol
-
My first thought was a 109.
-
I can see that... the heavily framed cockpit bears some similarities...
-
My first thought was a 109.
no offense, but what on gods green earth would make you think that? the cockpit shows no resembelense let alone the fuselage.
-
I think he was joking..... and yes guys that is a hurri but remember its just a RC plane not a real model not going to have any of the proper fixtures on it.
-
my guess is also a hurri.. but the side shot of the cockpit looks like a 47D... waiting for his reply... can't wait to fly that monster...
-
Where is the big radial cowl of the P-47?
When did the P-47 get a scoop under the fuselage?
Time for some to dig out that a/c recognition book.

I may not be savvy when it comes to rc, but that thing is HUGE!!! :O
And its a hurricane
-
I cant see how far back the scoop under the fuselage is.
If its in the middle/towards the front then its a hurricane.
However, if its more towards the back of the fuselage it could be a Macchi C202 or 205. Also notice the shape of the cockpit frame resembles the c202/c205 more than the hurricane (the 'cane had a longer-looking canopy).

i dont think the italian c202 would have british markings.
-
if its made in china...everything's possible :devil

Where the he!! is my  picture????
It's a Hurricane. :bhead

OK, so I'm not the only one that thought the fuselage and cockpit canopy didn't resemble a Hurri-I, phew. At first I thought maybe an early P-40 cockpit and fuselage, but that air intake and those thick wings... but that air intake!... doesn't look like a C202 or 205s, and it's wings also seem to be 2x the thickness at the roots than a c202 or c205... Maybe a Hurri I, with the wings of a Hurri II and with the fuselage and canopy from a C202?.... $0.02

Where the he!! is my  picture????
It's a Hurricane. :bhead
Fuselage, maybe, but that canopy.... are you 100% positive?
-
:bhead the canopy looks nothing like a c202. the fuselage could have been a p40 at a quick glance, but this is definately 100% a hurri MK-1.

Looks like you guys slept through that day in aviation history class.
That models canopy looks more like a C202s than a Hurri Is, no disputing it, unless you need help counting. Overall though, I would say it is an odd looking Hurri Mk I.

Look at where the fuselage drops after the canopy. Looks too much like a Hurricane than a C2.
-
anyway.... i just confirmed with him... its a hurri... and I JUST WON 5 MINS WITH IT!!! WOOOHOOOO..... he's letting me try a f4u electric first tho... for the fear i will wreck it on take off.. but THANKS GUYS!! wouldn't have done it without your help!!
-
Most RC models unless done really well are too tuff to call. Ive seen some F4us that look pretty crappy and you'd never know it was supposed to be one.
-
Let's put it this way. It is supposed to represent a Hurricane, but it does it quite poorly :)
-

lol it's an RC engine. Nothing like the real deal. :D

i think you took it wrong ;) i meant on top, not where those huge arse blocks were sticking out.

Yeah looking through pictures for my last post I noticed the fuselage tapering was definetley closer on the model to a Hurri than that of a C202. What we see of the wings also supports the Hurri I answer, as well as the windscreen (front quarter of the canopy) and the scoop shape definetley looks like a Hurri. It did pop into my mind on the way home, this being painted in what apears to be a North African paint job, but wasn't there also a CV version of the Hurri MkI? Did it have a different canopy?

Agreed, but it's a flying model, good enough and then some.

Alot of rc aircaft manufactuers try to make things look as scale as they can. However, the have to cheat with the design so they can fit in electronics, batteries, engines, servo's ect...
-
Oh man....seeing that schematic of the P-47 made me want to crea...uh...made me want to fly again. :bolt:
