Title: Fuel strats
Post by: fbabob on August 24, 2011, 06:57:25 PM
OK now I know am gonna get some grief about this!!! But I do think it needs to addressed I believe that with the amount of people plying now, that the fuel statis should be returned to its original format.  In otherwords but it back at 25% per field strat. As it is well known no one bothers to pork fuel anymore because you are able to go just about any where with 75%. If it was brought back to the orignal setting, I believe there would be more balance and stratigy involved in the game. Of course was logistics would play a bigger part as well!  just my thoughts

Agreed.  The only reason it changed (ages ago) was because of the Whinners.  Bring back the 25% fuel if you kill field fuel depots...it was a good thing  :D

But....but....think about the poor La 7 and Spit 16 pilots? What will they do? How will they fly?

Oh the huge-manatee!

Won't someone think of the fighter pilots?

Simple, up something that can't be refueled in 2 minutes using a sippy cup.

They wont. They will beg and beg for someone to run a goon while they sit there at the end of the runway with gas caps open

25% would make even P-51s, A6Ms, P-47Ns and Mossies pretty much one way trips.

Just up with 25% and you won't need to wait for someone to pork your fuel.

That's what you want, right? Some way for others to limit what you can fly?

Wanna bet?    An La7 defending a base with 25% is fun to rack up kills in.    You also get accused of cheating.

When defending a base I never up with 100% fuel.  Better turning when light.

I agree %100.  Reduce it down to at least %50.

On that note, I say do something to give the barracks a stepped system as well.

Ord needs a stepped system as well.

it isn't about limiting what you fly its about stratigy!

BTW I souped up the TV remote...... it works up to 10 miles away. I'm still working out how to use it across the room.

...until someone strategizes you.

If you wished for it and it happens to you then you wished that you could not fly certain planes because of the limited fuel.

may as well ask that cratering a runway with bombs shuts it down as well.

With the number of people flying in one large group, aren't they killing all the hangers enough for you now?

Ya great strategy. Horde splits into 5 5 man teams and porks fuel at 5 bases, then they auger. Next mission that capture at least 2 bases as.no one can get close enough with fuel to defend.

a sounds like a good plan.

50% would not be bad I suppose......... But what I'd really like to see is Ord bunker hardness increased...IT IS A BUNKER YA KNOW. Being = to dar, fuel and barracks is just silly

How do you take 25% of a bomb?  Or am I missing something?

Remember, 25% didn't shut down defenses, but it did completely shut down offenses, particularly for a side that was outnumbered badly.  Even using P-51Ds, Ki-84s, Mosquitos and other long ranged aircraft you really didn't have any viable offense on 25% fuel.

How do you take 25% of a bomb?  Or am I missing something?

You could do that by imposing max available bomb size restrictions.
