Title: Today’s auction find… I was stumped at first.
Post by: G0ALY on August 27, 2011, 04:36:09 PM
Howdy all, I brought this home from a local estate auction today. Standing on end, its just about six foot tall. I thought it would look good in the garage.

At first I thought it might be a folding wingtip off of some prop plane, but then I read the info on the data plate. It belongs on the tail assembly of a HSS-2 Sikorsky Sea King helicopter.

Still a neat piece for the garage.

CHEERS! goaly

Wow I would love to hang something like that i my man cave, sweet find.

I'll have to settle for prop on the wall and maybe some p51 ceiling fans.

I paid $120.00 for it. I did'nt think that was too bad considering I have'nt seen anything like this at an auction before.

The discoloration near the tip of the plain side was from my dirty hands. It cleaned right off and that side looks better now.

No real reason why they are there... It started with a single picture and just kept growing.
