Title: new way to get capture of base? credit

     I keep hearing fellows whine about NOT getting a base capture when say...9 of thier troops go in but the 10th troop is someone elses troop and THEY steal the capture.i was wondering if anybody thought the base capture should be like getting a kill...in this case,first guy with 5 or more troops in gets the capture,others get an assist...capture equals full perk points,assist on base capture equals a small percentage of perk points.  maybe something like that and more guys would share in the capture that they contributed to.  just a thought and if  people like the idea then a wish.

I want a capture assist for destroying buildings.  or for keeping the cons away from the m3's too.

I like the idea, but just like with kills if the first person to drop troop gets killed than the 2nd person gets full credit.

Question, what happens if two people drop 5 troops, who gets the assist?

i agree machfly. i guess to answer your question,probably the first person with 5 in and both pilots survive until capture,then the  FIRST with 5 in would get the capture,the other the assist.

This is just another "score" thing. You want to be the first, get there first! Seeing as there really isn't a lot of "skill" in dropping troops, other than timing. The object is to capture the base right? Does it really matter who gets credit?

It's a LOT of fun to pull up in an M3 next to someone letting out troops at the map room and to let mine out right as the last few troops are going in.  It seems like more often than not one of my troops is the 10th one in and I end up stealing the base take from them!  Let the screaming begin!  Loads of fun!

But I do have to say that I'm all for this.  The person who puts the most lead in a plane gets the kill (regardless of who actually kills it) so likewise the person who has the majority of their troops in the maproom should get credit for the base take (regardless of who the tenth troops belonged to).

I also think that when a person's troops takes a base they should get their name in lights if they get a successful landing afterwards.  This will help encourage people to actually land their goons instead of just dropping and ejecting...

Simple anyone with in .25k of the town gets a capture (team work) on their score card.  Anyone that dropped troops and is still alive gets perks and a capture.

it's a reward for getting your goon/m3 shot out from under you 8 or 10 times trying to take the base.

Most troops in.......capture credit.

i guess it is a score thing in one aspect,but it is an anonimous one at that,you dont get you name in lights like aircraft kills,just personal satisfaction for a job well done. i guess i can be frustrating sometimes as i hear alot of whines on the subject.  sorry just trying to help and put some ideas out there

It's just as important as watching out for enemy CV's 200 miles inland.

I think that if you get an assist on another player/ object you should get some points for the damage you have done.  After all without the help of the assistor, the killer wouldn't have gotten the kill.

Given that a capture is infact the map room object incurring damage from "troops" upto the point where it is destroyed.

Unfortunately object data (map rooms, hangers,etc etc)  is stored on the server and kill (killed) data against other players is stored on FE's. Hence IIRC assists are not allocated by the server only communicated / filtered via/thru the server.

Actually the one that really rankles is when you and fellow squaddies have pumelled the enemy HQ with ordinance only to have another squaddie straff it with a few 20mm and pick up a HQ destroyed credit for finally finishing it off with a Tempest .................... mentioning no name s of course........

How about dividing the payout .9  for everytroop entering the HQ?
