The postal service shut down, the airlines shut down, hell even the NYC subways shut down due to Irene, The Dedicated men of the Army's Old Guard showed them all up, they remained vigilant during the hurricane. All the girls and alot of guys complain about the sun in their eyes during marching and about being tired and not wanting to walk, My Sargent told us about the guard doing this during the storm, people made comments like "Well they are stupid" and "Oh hell no you can't pay me to stand in the rain" Which is very disrespectful in my opinion, These men have my :salute and I wish everyone could understand why they do it

A great unit, I served in the Old Guard back in 1986-1988, a very very stressful duty. But,,,also many great memories! <S> my Old Guard comrades!
