Title: Which one?
Post by: MarineUS on August 30, 2011, 02:59:51 AM
I used to build computers when I was a teenager, but when I ended up going to college I had to stop due to lack of time...joining the military didn't really free it up either haha! :P Anywho, I was wondering if you ladies and gentlemen could help me decide between these two. It's not going to be a purchase in the NEAR future but not too far off either. Christmas at the earliest lol.

I've been looking to build me a gaming rig that I wouldn't have to worry about upgrading for a long time. (ie. one that makes ya go "Oooooohhhhhh. I like them shiny things an' switches!"). I was wondering if you could tell me which was the better buy out of these two and why. No rush, or if ya don't feel like it, that's fine too. I understand.  :lol

The second ones better. Not sure if two sticks of ram is enough for the i7-2600 tho.

I was assuming the same thing, just been out of the game so long that I couldn't be positive.

are you going to be building it yourself or ordering it through a PC builder?

SB Audigy is quiet old for this day..... also if you are not going to be ordering until around christmas, I can asure you that alot of new stuff will be out by then and/or prices will change a good bit even.......

ordering through those internet PC builders, they buy stuff in bulk and only give you 3 or 4 choices to pick from, you are getting a "semi-custom PC"  not a true "Custom PC" to your desired specs....

PC builders. I don't have the time or money to do it myself.

I remember Sound blaster from around the time I quit building computers. I put one in an older computer that my parents still have.

The second one is from ibuypower.

well, in all fairness...with the exception of the hard drive and power supply, the second one looks like a decent system for a retail build. just never know what brand of hard drive or power supply they are actually putting in it.

as long as you can get the corsair dominator memory and the xfx or evga graphics card...then grab the #2 system if you like the price and can afford it.

Door number two, because it's got a Sandy Bridge CPU, and the unlocked one, at that!  :aok
