We currently have the KI-61 I...c or d model in the game now, after that model the JAAF used a better version in combat, The KI-61 II, the main differencs was the uprated engine(ha-140) and slightly enlarging the aircraft, same look, same gun package, same drop tanks and bomb load. THE main performance difference was a better climb rate(equal to KI-100) and a slight increase in speed through out its altitude range with peak comming at a higher altitude....peak speed is about 380mph at around 19,600ft....in stead of 367mph at around 16,200ft. the KI-61 II was made in quantity....almost as many as the P-47n and more than the ta-152....saw combat, recorded more kills than the p-47n and ta-152 combined, and as the ki-61 current cockpit and aircraft needs an update..can we add this as well....just like updating the ZERO.

id rather see the yaks and b26 upgraded first.

We also need earlier Ki-61-Is armed with either four 12.7mm guns or two 12.7mm guns and two MG151/20 20mm cannons.

It would be easier to model the Ki-61 IIa as it had the same wing as the The Ki-61-I-Tei we currently have. Also, I don't think the Ki-61 II or the IIa had the same climb rate of the Ki-100 which surpassed the Ki-61 IIa in all but maximum speed.

and...please add the Ki-61-I-Otsu (MG151/20 loadout would be nice too), Ki-100-I with bubble canopy.
I don't like to see the Ki-61-II.

No, about 800 MG151/20s were delivered by submarine along with ammunition. They were installed on one of the Ki-61 versions.

to reply to ackack,...According to kawasaki records and JAAF records the KI-61 II had the same climb rate as the KI-100...as recorded as the same time to 6,000 meter altitude......was there altitude rate differences?...i am sure there were...but i am not aware of them, remember they both had the same horsepower, but different engines ,and the ki-100 was lighter due to the radial engine,it was also less areodynamic. and yes the version with the same wing would be an easier task to model...im all for it. as for the bubble canopy, well there is only evidence that 5 made it to combat units in the form of the KI-61 II....no evidence they saw combat......so i'd have to say no to bubble canopy unless we get the KI-100
