Title: OBJ, ENY
Post by: Dragon Tamer on September 08, 2011, 08:54:08 AM
Can someone tell me specificaly what these are in the game.  I have asked several times for a deffinition for OBJ and never got an answer.

Can someone also tell me how the ENY system is worked out (how many perkies do you get with your ENY and enemy ENY)?  I know that it generaly works on a kill bassis of

you>nmy= more points
nmy>you= less points

Beyond that I'm clueless.

.

ENY works on % (starts from 0,1,2... when you don't have planes below ENY value 5!) and its inefficiency is  growing exponentially with the number of players  in MA, it's just a useless too mild attempt for side balancing.

Here are some examples of how the ENY score comes in to play:

You are in a F6F w/ an ENY of 15 and you shoot down an enemy Spitfire Mk XVI (Spit16) w an ENY of 5.  You just earned 3 perk points.  Oh, but wait.  Your country has a higher ratio of players comparatively and the modifier is .89 (shown on the hanger on the clipboard).  So take your 3 perk points you just earned and you get %89 of that, so your new score is 2.67 perk points.

Later on in the day....

You are in a P51D (5 ENY) and you get a kill on a P40B (40ENY), you just earned .125 perks for that kill.  Oh, but wait.  Your country is out numbered comparatively and has a 1.29 ENY modifier.  You new perk point award is: .161 perks.

The name of the game is the more gifted the plane is that you fly the less you earn in perk points.

OBJ scores work the same way but instead of earning perk points for shooting down a player, you earn perk points for destroying "OBJ" (objects), namely buildings, hangers, ammo bunkers, radar, fuel tanks, barracks, ack guns, etc.

And just for completeness' sake, landing your plane also gives you a 25% perk point modifier.

So, if you're in a 20 ENY plane and you kill a 5 ENY plane and your perk multiplier at the time is 1.0, you score 4 points.  If you land your plane, you get 5 points instead of 4.

You better double check that.  I thought it was %100 if you landed, then ditch, disco, captured, and killed all get progressively worse for scoring.  I thought the only way to increase it beyond %100 was the ENY modifier???

I'm reasonably certain how I stated it is how it works.  The only number I care about in the game is perks, so I watch it pretty closely.

I believe it's either safe landing or not a safe landing to have the 25% bonus applied.  I don't think it matters whether it's a ditch/capture/kill at all.

That is for score, for perk points it works as he described it.

Landed- 100%
Ditched- 75%
Bailed- 50%
Captured- 40%
Discoed- 25%
Killed- 25%
Crashed- 25%

OP- just keep in mind for OBJ- higher is better. A G4M Betty bomber with a couple of bombs @ 40OBJ is going to get a helluva lotta perks from bombing a town versus a B-29 with 20,000lbs of bombs becuase its OBJ is a measly 3

Also, landing your sortie will apply a 1.25 multiplier to your perk points.

ditch/capture/killed/crashed would just get 1.00

Ah.  I didnt know that about the %125 perk bonus for landing.  That tells ya just how much I watch my own score and perk awards.   :D

Perks are important.  That number gives an indication of how long I have to wait before I can blow up a 262 again. :)

scoring and perk points are 2 different things.

Example:

Eny Bonus (You can see this in hangar) = 1.2

You fly a K4 (Eny 20)

And kill a K4 (20), a Spit16 (5), and a Mosquito (30). And you land the sortie.

(20/20 + 20/5 + 20/30)*(1.25)*(1.2) = 8.5 Perk Points
Title: Re: OBJ, ENY

Now I'm really confused Grizz.  According to the website Perk Point Bonus has nothing to do with the airplanes you kill.  It is a function of the ratio of the number of players flying for your country over total players.

It also says Perk Points Earned = Sortie Points Earned X 1/Perk Point Bonus.  If this is true, then as Perk Point Bonus approaches infinity, Sortie Points Earned approaches zero.  This looks a bit fubar'd.

You earn perk points very much faster if you fly some of the choice things in the 30 ENY range.  Things in the 40 ENY range tend to be at too much of a disadvantage.

Kill a Spitfire Mk XVI (ENY 5) with a Mosquito Mk VI (ENY 30) and you get 6 perk points if the perk modifier is an even 1.00.  Kill a Mosquito Mk VI with a Spitfire Mk XVI and you get 0.17 perk points.  Land those kills and the Mossie gives you 7.5 perk points and the Spit gives you 0.21 perk points.

The perk point bonus is what you see in the hangar.  If that number is above 1 you will get more perk points.  That's just the "bonus" though and is covered in my lil example.  The landing bonus is 1.25.  The main components of earning perk points are based completely on eny and the ratio of your plane's eny to the plane you shot downs eny.

You don't get perks offline.

Just sayin.

Seriously.  You seem like an ok kid that likes this game.  I don't understand why you haven't made a sufficient effort to play online with us when you obviously want to.
If I may offer some little advice:  Quit messin around here on the boards, doing new avatars, getting into silly arguments and make the effort to get the money to play for your fun.

Tell ya what, you make the effort to get online, pay for a month somehow someway, show me that you are online by PM'n me when you are and I will call HiTech and pay for your next month on my credit card.  Kinda like buy one, get one free.   One time, after that you are on your own.  <S>

ive got more than enough cash to get online. its the time i dont have much of. when im only getting in about 6-8 hours a month, well thats just not worth it. once my mom gets her other job (idk when) and i dont have to take care of my little brother and sister then i might consider it. until then, its stay up until 5 in the morning on weekends playing offline missions.

not to mention if they add the StuG III Ausf G. i might consider coming back just for that 1 hour a night

Skorpion, what's the point of offline missions? They're there to test your plane out and maybe to take a break from online once in a while. Really, I go to college, I have work and spend half my day in class or studying. I still have time for AH and 7 hours of sleep. Just send in your money in the mail if you don't have a CC. Sell your xBox if you don't play it, use that money to help your mom by buying small things for yourself that she doesn't have to pay for like snack, lunch money, a new shirt or a pair of shoes.

The time you spend on the BbS, you could be playing AH. It's even more annoying when you preach about things you don't even know about because you don't play online. You said you used to, but it doesn't mean things don't change. It's 15 bucks a month, that's 50 cents a day, even for a few hours, that's worth IMO over a bag of chips or a Twinkie.

back to MW3. im definately not spending any cash on it, WaW drew the line for me and im sticking with that until the morons that make CoD get back into their right minds.

look at the first 2 of your quotes. i havent been online in 4 days since yesterday. im getting that year card tomorrow if possible the fact that you didnt notice that when you go back to silver from gold you technically arent "online" doesnt mean that in the last 2 that 4 days is a long time. if you want a range for not being online in a long time then try maybe 3 weeks.
